Since coming back from Japan, I am seeing 4G+ on my cellphone when in Central Dunedin

I am curious what this actually means - doing a speed test via the Speed Test app gave me poorish results - 20Mb/s Down, 30Mb/s Up

I believe it is carrier aggregation. Seeing it in parts of Wellington as well.

Noticed it here in Rolleston too on 2degrees. Speed test varies but have had up to 95 down and 20 up.
