Hi, assuming you have a Fritzbox, you will need to do it your end.

On your Fritzbox - under Internet/Account Information/Internet connection - do you have the following set under connection setting

Downstream should be 999999 kbit/s

Upstream should be 999999 kbit/s

Yes, 2degrees adjusted the settings controlling the qos enforced on their end of the connection and I then started getting faster speeds.

To respond to some of the other queries on this thread; Other people having speed issues may or may not be having the same problem as me. From what I've seen from other posts there seem to be 3 most common causes of speed problems.

* If you are using your own router or an older fritzbox you might have hardware too slow to handle the fully speed of a gig connection

* The router settings might be incorrect (such as the fritzbox qos settings - I can't speak on those though since I'm not using a fritzbox)

* Or as in my case there might be a problem with the settings on the remote end - Generally though you'd want to check you aren't hitting any of the first two points before taking up with your ISP.

Interesting. I have a similae problem as in not going past 450 Mbps now. I am told all is well both with Chorus and 2degrees but still seem limited. Tried with the Fritzbox and a Synology 2600rt.

Same here. 2degrees and Gigabit connection. Seems limited to 450 Mbit/s downstream.

That helped a bit on my end.

Removed internet telephony and Fritzbox media server (that I didn't use) from Internet -> Filters -> Prioritization on the Fritzbox.

Went from around 450 Mbit/s as max download speed to around 630 Mbit/s. Not quite Gigabit yet, but closer.

I am about to test a new router and will also factory reset the one I currently use.

Hi Mauricio,

We've checked things on our side for you, in order to get to the root cause of the issue, I've asked Ricky to reach out to you to troubleshoot.

Nick.

Thanks Nick... This was checked a couple of weeks back and I was told both Chorus and 2degrees had confidence this was ok on their side. As I said I am about to factory reset the Synology router - althoug I do have a FritzBox and it showed the same speed problem when I tested with it. The problem with factory reset is having to reconfigure network, add reservations and SSL certificates again, seeing I wouldn't reload the config backup, just in case it contains some dodgy configuration.

I am about to test a new, not yet released, router from next week so it will be a third box to see if it happens.

Real cause is patch lead only having 2 pairs terminated (using lead supplied to attach Fritz to RJ45 VDSL outlet).

Hiya,

Do you have an open ticket with Care? if so, what is it. We are currently investigating this issue, so more information should be tracked via normal channels to provide us with any details of who you are, where and how you're testing etc.
