Currently on a 2degrees Broadband contract. Looking at moving into a new place but may have to house share for couple months in between so won't be able to do a direct move from A>B.

Is it possible to put my broadband account on hold for 2 months during this time? @2degreescare

Nope as the wholesaler (good chance Chorus) still charges the retailer for the line per month

Not sure how much it'll have to do with the wholesaler as connection will have to cease at A, then effectively no connection for 2 months, then new connection at B.

I do expect to pay some sort of maintenance fee or even up to the full monthly rate of the plan over the 2 months; just wondering if it's possible to have a gap in between "moving" connection (or port to a "phantom address" in meantime) rather than having to break contact.

Then you are breaking a contract term then starting a new connection 2 months later

2degrees have previously said they will put a fixed line connection on hold for 6-8 weeks when moving house, case by case basis.

Source.

That is awesome if they do @2degreescare but I would not be surprised if they don't cause I bet it's the only Telco that would I think

They may not, given that info is a couple of years old, but certainly worth contacting them to ask.

Yep they've done so with me also in the past. Only for a few weeks, but I feel they could do this.

Hi all, yes we can offer customers an 'account holiday' for a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of up to 6 months if a customer can no longer afford to pay the service, are moving without a confirmed address, or are moving to an address with existing services but have confirmed that they plan to reconnect their services with us.

Please PM us your details (customer number, contact number, billing email address, physical address and reason for the request).

Cheers
