My daughter has the $9 prepaid plan. When she runs out of data how can I stop causal data use and the balance disappearing. Thanks

You cant that Im aware of, apart from installing a 3rd party app to monitor data usage I guess. I use the same plan but use wifi more than anything so my data just grows so when I do use it, I dont bother checking it :)

I have the same problem with spark in that when my plan's data runs out they kept charging me for casual data.

In the end the easiest solution was to only top up each month and leave no balance on the account.

I never run out of minutes or texts so that works for me. YMMV.

Why not switch to skinny? They will stop your data when you used up your quota.

@Geektress take note Skinny does 28 day billing and 2degrees does true month to month billing and see my post above about installing 2degrees data clock App

Data clock App offers free data everyday for 1 hour while promotion is on

May be worth the ask, to see if 2d can just toggle the different billing on the plan or bar it.

Aside from that, i'd set the data limit and period within the device settings. android is very good about warning you your close, and stopping your data when it's over unless you go no i want you to enable.

You have to register for Data Clock after downloading the app, but that’s all (don’t need to buy anything).

You could use autopay for your combo. That way the combo renews when due and auto charges a credit/debit card. No need to have actual $ balance sitting there to be gobbled up.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

I'm probably going to switch to Warehouse Mobile as I'm a very low usage user, could probably get away with the casual rates for the most part. Just thought I'd mention it as the casual rates wouldn't be so punitive with them.

Carriers should be providing the option to remove casual mobile data charges when included data runs out

@Bluntj Yes but not sure how this is related to this thread and it's covered on the 2degrees Wi-Fi calling page

my problem is exactly that - if you are on plan 2degrees doesn't let you use casual data, you have to buy one of their 'packs' ($10 minimum). option is the key word
