My internet has got slower!!!

Down from 108 to 79 (VDSL) ... if I log a case with 2Degrees would they see previous speeds and be inclined to look into it you think ?

Has vectoring dropped off by chance?

I've no idea how to even check :-)

I do notice from a previous screengrab that the "Carrier record" used to be "A43c", and now it is "A43" ... that make a difference ?

still active, everything else looks good.

SRA is turned off on your fritz which will drop it  a little.

Kinda looks like a genuine fault has shown itself..

That's a hard fault to drive though.. Your line is still really nice.

Vectoring is designed to cancel noise from this very scenario.

If people connected proper modems with vectoring support this wouldn't be an issue ;)

Hiya,

Call care on 0800 022 022 - They can run a line check, maybe reset the port if needed etc.

Nick.

Port refreshes should be banned... or better yet, the functions should be split out so you can do the Rebuilds etc without totally stripping everything.

It's just such a brutal approach...  Kinda miss the days it would brick a linecard ;)

Well 2Degrees techie minion suggested I swap the RJ11 to BT cable going from modem to jack point ... speed jumped to 99MBit.  (10points to House 2Degrees)

I didn't think to try swapping that bit as something that would wear out.

So next question ... where can I get a nice quality new cable thats not too long, since the one I swapped in was pulled out of an old phone and probably not in great condition itself 😄

Based on your definition, I must be a 2D minion too - thanks, I think. Jaycar, Computer Dynamics, any IT shop should have them, equally, if you are in CHCH, I'll happy gift you one or two if you'd like to pop in.

PS: it may not be the cable, more so the art of pulling out the old, and replacing was enough to push on loose-ish wires.. It could be the phone socket/jackpoint needs to be re-terminated.
