Its working now.

I did call this morning after 8am but call centre says there was no one available.

Couldn't confirm there was any outages.

But clearly there was.

There was no outages on their website pages, which would have been helpful if there was.

The error I was getting was saying that outlook could not reach smtp server.

I have my custom domain on Outlook fetching my emails from Snap (and Orcon); I got an email just after midnight from Outlook asking me to check my Snap settings ..
Now I know why

Coudln't you send the email via Gmails SMTP server, or another third party one as a backup?

I could have, but I am a snap email fan.

I've had the same email address for more than 20years.

It serves me well most of the time and I hardly ever get spam in it.

@ford Snap I'm sure has not been around 20 years!

Happy to be corrected

I think Snap merged with some other ISPs in the early days which were offering email and dial-up access in the 90s so it is possible someone has had the ame address for over 20 years and it has been Snap for most of that time.

Correct - Netaccess bought/merged with a bunch of smaller providers like Caverock, Southnet,Tasman, Inet, Ispnz, eznet, esi, quicker, Southern.
