Hi, it seems like I have lost access to my home server (has been running flawlessly behind DDNS for years)

What's the best way to check that the issue is in fact due to my home Fibre connection having been put on CG-NAT? Just wanted to find out before I hit up 2degrees about it.

Cheers

Note: Yes, my internet connection does work and my home Cloud Cameras (Wyze and Arlo) still work. Just access to my various services is no longer working.

Cheers

thanks for the heads up. Increases the likelyhood of this being the cause of my issue.... Problem is I run my Unifi Controller on my own server and obviously can't access it externally right now to check what the WAN IP is (!)

I can no longer connect to my home vpn (OpenVPN) - Gave 2Degrees a call and they assured m I'm not on CGNAT "yet" - Apparently when you get moved you are notified via email - that's what I got told.

So will need to start troubleshooting from my end once I'm back home.

To get around remote access issues on CG-NAT, create a reverse SSH session to a server on the outside, and SSH tunnel back, I do it at a few locations and it works fine.

Nup, don't think you've been given correct advice there - well, it wasn't the case for me, anyway as I never received any formal notification. Rather, it was the 2D rep here on GZ that checked and confirmed that I had been shifted.

Are all the other ISPs the same as far as this issue goes?

Larger isps likely have larger ip pools and thus dont have any issues with spare IP's.

Just a follow up from me.

Called 2Degrees, they apologised for the unannounced change to my connection. They asked me if i needed to connect home for work and i said yes (which is true) and they assigned me a static IP. I did ask about just getting a dynamic IP since i don't really need a static IP but they said that they weren't giving them out any more once CGNAT had been applied.

Big thanks to 2Degrees support for sorting it out without any fuss.
