Got an email from them to apply for a $5 credit on a free simcard closer to launch..

Ok I thought, why not..

First problem. The site seems to send a text as soon as you put the mobile number in. I put one of mine, tabbed to the next field and then a text came thru - Then I thought I would use my other number since I am not carrying one of them much.

To me nothing should happen till I submit the form.

Second fail is the address. How do I specify a PO Box? Looks like I cant. Not putting the street address for obvious reasons...

I quite like the text coming through straight away, as it made the whole process very fast and easy. Well done 2d.

Text eventually came thru on the other phone so I guess you could sit there all day putting numbers in and clicking out of the field if you wanted to..

IMO taking text input without my express concent (by clicking a submit button) is an invasion of privacy.

I did a survey once where they were constantly reading and submitting textfields while you edited them - the pretense was as a draft but whatever, an invasion of privacy by taking details that I did not want sent to them and acting on them.

Surely the interaction of you typing your details into their system is the act of giving them consent to take it?

What about the likes of Gmail saving drafts automatically?

Gmail I have already agreed to their terms and conditions signing up. No typing in a field is not consenting to have a text sent to me, submitting the form would be.

Ditto.

@OP: You're putting your phone number on a form. Don't want to worry? Don't type your personal information on a web form. What more consent do you want?

I wasn't at my phone when I put my text number in and I hit submit. I am very suprised that the TXTs came through so quickly.

Hmm, I just tried to sign up but had no success. I got the text but the site didn't accept the code that they sent me. I closed the page and tried it all again, and didn't get a text the second time.

It would be nice to just let us enter in our address manually... the searching function was a bit confusing because it couldn't find rd only road

When I tried the code came with an extra "@" at the end. I entered without that and it worked.
