I just had a voicemail from 2degrees stating that they had seen my attempt to register for chinwag was not completed due to a error in the text code. Would I please call them on their 0800 number.

I am very impressed that they would go to this length to give me $5. If this is the kind of customer service we can come to expect then I'm sold.

They called me when they discovered I made a typo on my email address,was quite nice of them.

From everything i have heard 2 degrees is going to be alot different to Telecom and Vodafone and they will be different in a good way

Good on them if they do, because honestly, the service from VFNZ and TNZ overall is pretty bad over the last few years.

But it's early days. You have to remember they are still operating with startup capital. Could be a different story when the business has been running a while and things need to be a bit more self sufficient.

Had such a bad experience today with Telecoms Managed Customer Centre that I very nearly hung up on the person I was speaking to (over the simple blocking of a lost phone)... but that's a different rant.

I had a call today that was probably from them 00800022022 was the caller id - no vm on that mobile so nothing left.

And later that day on my other phone I had a call from them - correct caller id however and they were following up because I didnt complete the registration. Still wanted a street address however and apparantly the sim will be delivered to it.

Seems bloody stupid to insist on a street address. Hope I get the sim before the pimply youths that regually help themselves to the mail if its posted to the address.

Great to see them going out of their way to serve their customers / potential customers!

Gee, it reminds me of the early days with Saturn and Xnet/Vfx who both went overboard to provide good fast and efficient service. As they grew and in Saturn's case got swallowed up by others service levels slowly dropped - as can be read in the Geekzone forums.

Please, please 2degrees don't make the same mistakes as you grow! Keep on top of customer service like you are doing now even before the launch in August. Stay cool, remember it doesn't take that much customer heat to turn 2degrees into 100 degrees and service all turns into so much steamy hot air and mist if you're not fully prepared for the future. We've seen it happen before.

Meanwhile it's a case of us all making hay while the sun shines. Long may the good service continue. I wish 2degrees all the very best success in the world.

I'm always a keen supporter of every new kid on the block. I hope this kid is really going to "kick arse" and completely change the mobile market in New Zealand.

I got a call yesterday (went to VM, and XT VM reported the CID as the 0800 # - nice touch 2DM).

Anyway - apparently I entered my email address incorrectly.

Unlikely, given that I never have before (its my first name at a 4 character domain name), and that many others are reporting similar issues, I'd wager that 2DM has stuffed up somewhere.
