I'd say that's a "phase two" service once they get their feet under the desk, so to speak...

It's a real shame they couldn't offer a bestmate service.....

Prices are attractive though.

On the front page of this thread it says 22c to 2degrees mobiles or NZ landlines, but the website speaks nothing of this?

Calls to New Zealand mobiles & landlines 44c / min

http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/prices-on-a-page

And then there is this... #_#

Just went to their site where they have updated with new pricing. If Im right, 9c per text to 21 international countries is awesome!

Thank you 2degrees. Finally I can stop texting. Goodbye vodafone.

I am hoping that 2degrees can offer mobile data plan soon

Magic top-up = smart way to get low paying customers to pay more than they would normally on other networks. 22c per minute is a killer rate for calling landlines/on-net. Don't look at the Magic top-up as a txt plan (although obviously you get "free" txts), see it as an opportunity to use your phone to make calls again ...

Great coverage this AM freitasm - nice work. Hope you're not suffering too badly from the 4AM start!

Not the knockout punch from 2Degrees I was hoping for... here's hoping they don't take too long to get post-pay and data options sorted.

22c/min to landlines and on-net as a result of Magic top-up, which you need to use up within 30 days.  $20 Magic top-up = 100 txts + 22c/min calling.  Other networks still at 44c/min.

So from what I am seeing you get the 22c pricing to other 2degrees mobile and land line for the 30 days after you topup. Anyone else see it like that or do you have another opinion

Yes, that's right! And it wasn't mentioned in the live twitters!! BIG difference!

I have a comparison table ready comparing all 3 networks.

These prices are perfect for me, lots of text to the UK, a few calls and a little data.
I currently pay $10/month on PrePay for data and have used only 7MB for a full month which is cheaper than the $1/day Vodafone. The data is the odd map and email check while I'm out and about.

Can anyone confirm, does the iPhone 3g have EDGE for data? And also on the 50c/MB data rates, can the MB span more than one day? If so, 2D will be cheaper for my needs, 7MB = $3.50.
Texts to UK at 30c on VF too at the moment, say 50/month = $15, on 2D that would only be $4.50.

So in my case, I sacrifice faster data on VF but should only pay around $8/month for what I use on 2D, rather than $25/month on VF. (I'm not sure VF allow overseas texts on bundles so getting them is not an option).

Think I'll be switching soon as my VF credit runs out.
