Hi All

Had a search and didn't turn up much on this phone, I guess seeing as it is fairly new to the XT network. I picked one of these up from work to put onto the 2degrees network, left as standard with all the network settings as they are out of box, internet works, mms does not work, sms works.

Has anyone had experience setting one of these up with 2degrees' network settings? struggling to get my head around the appropriate settings on the phone etc, the 2degrees site doesnt have the settings listed for this phone, and an imei search for them on the site doesnt help either.

Any help anyone can offer is appreciated, i'd love to get mms working.

Also, I can't seem to send or receive any international txts, several people have tried sending, with no luck, i've tried sending out to numbers that work perfectly fine on my old telecom phone, they "send" but never get to their destination. Anyone else with a similar experience?

Thanks

International SMS is not related to handset settings in anyway

Have you checked the 2degrees web site for the carriers they have agreements with for 2 way SMS

try checking for an optionlike this below on Android.......its used overseas where if you are roaming you want to disable data so you dont get pinged huge costs!!
In NZ-2 degrees - you will roam when outside 2d's own network coverage, sorry , its going to be slow, 3G IS coming!

Settings>>Wireless &Network settings>>Mobile Networks>>
Then check (that is set to tick on) Data Roaming

I assume the Touch will have something similar to stop inadvertant roaming?

I couldn't find anything that appeared to turn the data connection off permanently on the Touch 2. Even if you turned it off, it seemed to restart itself when you accessed something that needed a data connection.

The solution I found was to download DataContoller.cab from http://redfrogfish.com/data-controller/. Note it needs .Net 3.5.

Hi all

This works on Android 2.1 with MMS and WAP and just WAP on Android 1.6 (but not for MMS)

1. Press on the menu button on the phone (left of the home button)
2. Select 'Settings'
3. Select 'Wireless & networks'
4. Select 'Mobile networks'
5. Select 'Access Point Names'
6. Press the menu button and select 'New APN'

7. Fill out the fields as below:

Name: 2degrees internet
APN: internet
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC:
MMS Proxy:
MMS Port:
MCC: 530
MNC: 24
Authentication Type:
APN Type: default

8. Press the back button (left of the menu button). WAP is now set up, skip the rest of the guide you do not want MMS set up.

9. To set up MMS, press the menu button and select 'New APN'
10. Fill out the fields as below:

Name: 2degrees MMS
APN: mms
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.2degreesmobile.net.nz/:48090
MMS proxy: 118.148.001.118 (It is very important that the extra 0's are not left out)
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 530
MNC: 24
Authentication Type:
APN type: mms

11. Press the back button
12. Turn off the phone and turn it back on. The settings will not work properly until the phone is restarted.

Hope this helps!
Cheers
