Snap just won the TUANZ award for the third time running, and to celebrate they're having another free data weekend. See their Twitter page for more info:

Of course, my ADSL2+ modem decided to die yesterday, so I'm stuck with ADSL1 until Monday. I may only be able to pull down only 100gb. :(

I'd heard that a few people were able to get in the 200gb range, and that there was one guy very close to the exchange that downloaded "hundreds".

Am sitting on a sustained 6 megabit thruput here, most of that is stuff off my seedbox which would never break 1 when I was on slingshot. Once that has cleared out (which it should do at this rate) I will see how it goes on the other stuff, like clearing my massive backlog of torrents that never made it to the cache at slingshot, but so far I have to give snap 8 or 9 thumbs up out of 10.

Solid 43ms pings, which as interleaving is on at the moment should drop to about the same as slingshot gave me to my webhost (10-12 normally)

edit: graphs work on snap - slingshot would always spoof connection closed or reset for the curl command that updated pachube - http://pachube.com/feeds/3721 nice to have those working again.

I was with Slingshot for a whole day before I realised just how crap they were. I quickly switched back to Snap and am very happy to be with them.

Decided to visit the forum to see if there was any knowing issues with You Tube since its been slow Saturday and Sunday.. and I see this.

Didn't know about this at all this time around - poor advertising (although I know why!) and once again shows that if you don't facebook or twitter in this day you don't get any information at all.

It was right on their website. Perhaps they didn't want to announce it too loudly, lest every single subscriber would take advantage of it.

You'll have to wait till next year. I think Snap sent me an email about it, so be on the watch.

111.83 GB - not sure if that is the total or if there will be more ticking over shortly, but that would have taken about 10-12 days of free offpeak on slingshot when they were working right, and closer to a month how it works at the moment. Only a small dent in stuff to move off the seedbox, but will start that back up at 1 with the paidfor offpeak and see how it goes without the rest of the country hammering it too.

I have been with Orcon for quite a number of years. I priced up I would actually be worse off financially but I suspect I calculated wrong, is there a person from Snap here I could forward my latest bill off to so that they can analyze it?

If I get 18mbit through Orcon on the cabinet, I presume I would get the same rates through Snap? Does snap offer VDSL, because that would be a big attraction! :)
