Hi guys,

We are a company currently expanding into the Asia pacific market space, with a presence already established in Europe and am wanting to get your feedback on some good companies to approach in order to establish a relationship for purchasing general IT gear off (eg switches, printers, cables). We are based in Auckland so local company would be ideal

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

Ingram Micro are good for most things.

Synnex are generally cheaper for ram and HDD I have found

Computer Dynamics for network cabinets and network patch leads.

Anything like Ruckus Wireless, Allied Telesis, Sonicwall theres connector systems

Hi Troy

My master list:

Snappernet.co.nz for networking gear. The support is second to none in my experience and I hear that from others I know that buy from them. Have a look at the Mako gear they have - I would strongly encourage trialling it.

Exeed.co.nz for HP / Samsung / Apple gear - responsive helpful team.  I find HP have the best local presence in terms of on site hardware support, demo gear, etc.  We're not a huge market but they look after us pretty well.

Synnex.co.nz for components and Lenovo gear, including WD hard drives. We also buy Transcend branded pocket hard drives due to their rugged design. Richard You my account manager is very responsive.

cdlnz.com for cables and misc stuff.  Prompt shipping.

FlexiRent.co.nz for leasing

nz.ingrammicro.com are the largest supplier of gear in the country, but unless you are a large account expect average service levels, and orders rarely leaves their warehouse as quickly as I would expect.

pbtech.co.nz are a consumer-oriented tech warehouse with prices often below our purchase price at local distributors. They are handy for unexpected purchases when on site. CAUTION: some of their equipment is parallel imported. We had a customer-sourced NAS fail recently that had to go back to them for repair - 2-3 weeks turnaround was advised. The customer was very unhappy.

trademe.co.nz is our local answer to eBay (who never got traction in the NZ market).

Let us know if you need some extra manpower in your early days. Happy to wear your branding etc.

Cheers
Mike
