Have seen a few threads asking about it recently. Have also done it myself and well worth it;

See details here:

In conjunction with our training partner Bespoke Training Services, we are delighted to invite you to attend the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification Prep Workshop in Auckland on 9 October, 2014 from 1:30pm - 6:00pm.  Earning Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification validates your technical skills and expertise with the AWS platform, as well as contributes to your organisation¹s proficiency with AWS-based applications.  This workshop is designed to help you prepare for the AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate exam.  It¹s intended for individuals who have completed the Architecting on AWS course. The AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate exam is intended for individuals with experience designing distributed applications and systems on the AWS platform.  Eligible candidates have one or more years of hands-on experience designing available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS.  Candidates also have the ability to identify and define requirements for an AWS-based application, experience with deploying hybrid systems with on-premises and AWS components, and the capability to provide best practices for building secure and reliable applications on the AWS platform. In this workshop, our AWS Authorised Instructor will walk you through the exam blueprint, review concepts that will be tested in the exam, and answer your questions.  You will then have a chance to take an online practice exam to test your knowledge.  At the end of workshop, you will receive resource materials to help you study, including the Exam Guide, a practice exam voucher (valued at US$20), and a voucher to take AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate exam (valued at US$150). The workshop will cover: €    AWS Certification overview €    Review of AWS key concepts €    Next steps €    Practice exam €    Networking over pizza and beer AWS Certification Workshop Date: 9 October, 2014 Location: Auckland Cost: NZD $225 + GST

I'm going to the Wellington one, 7th Oct. If you're going to do it anyway the price is about the same as the cost of the exam and the practice test.
