Anyone noticed bank feed credit card transactions dates different from statement dates?

Seems weird that they are different? Surely if the bank is presenting a transaction on your statement on a particular date then it should be the same date in the bank feed??

Some seem to be on the same date but a majority are 1-2 days later than the statement date.

May be showing the clearance date not the actual transaction date

While credit card transactions are processed in real time they often won't appear on your statement for a 1-2 days after.

I'm sure there is a reason for it but its a nightmare if you need to look for transactions in a certain date range.

Eg: I'm trying to match credit card transactions to my bank statement. Enter range of 1/8/14 to 1/10/14 and get bank statement printout. Do the same in my accounting program and get a totally different set of transactions!

Surely bank feeds are provided by your bank. Why would they present two totally different dates?

This makes no sense whatsoever.

My statements show a transaction date and a processing date, and they on occasions can be up to a week apart.  A little frustrating when things are on the 'wrong' month's statement when you are hunting, but not the end of the world.
