frankv: Libre Office

I got burned by one of these fake key sellers, and tried out some of those "office alternatives" (libreoffice, openoffice, kingsoft office).

None of them work properly for complex word documents, powerpoint, and forget about Access files.

Waste of time if you need 100% office compatibility or want to do complex things IMO.

Eventually found a copy of 2010 Pro Retail (FPP - full packaged product ie boxed) on TM - that is the one that allows 2 installs. The PKC (product key card) version (get a key and download) is one copy only.

Office 2010 is about as good as it gets, and will probably still be in use a decade from now. MS knows this and wants you to keep paying them money, hence office 365.

Check out this and this or just google it

Hope this is helpful.

Also whenever you buy any form of "key" online you run the risk it is bought with a stolen credit card. I dont know if microsoft are agressivly cancelling the ones they issue like some games company did and got crap for when peoples games they thought they had legitimatly bought for a really good price stopped working.

old3eyes: You can get office 365 personal from PB tech for $79.35 inc GST  with a $25 prezzy card so $54.35. Actually quite cheap for the first year  to try out..

You might as well buy the HP Stream 7" Windows tablet for US$79, it comes with 365 Personal and a US$25 Store gift card.
