Hello
I have a customer who wants to remain on dial up
I purchased them a new PC with windows 7 Pro
I have a USB fax modem with a Conexant chipset.
I let windows find the driver and it installed.
The connection works and authenticates and registers but no internet.
By the clock the network Icon has a yellow triangle over it.
Sometimes the yellow triangle disappears straight away and it connections but mostly it doesn't
On the times that the connection is established it stays connected.

I thought it might be the driver so I installed the one on the disk but same problem
Its the yellow triangle that's stopping getting the internet, the connection itself works fine.

Sounds like you haven't specified DNS settings.

TBH didn't know there were people still using dial up.

Thanks for the suggestions, no I haven't specified DNS settings yet,
Customer is with Vodafone so I wonder if they are the same as broadband DNSs.
Customer is elderly and only uses email, doesn't want to move to broadband.
Cost would outweigh the benefit

Hello
I entered Vodafones DNS but it didn't make any difference
Customer is with Vodafone so I'll post the question there.
Thanks anyway.

You shouldn't have to configure anything manually as the DNS settings should come with the PPP connection.  Sounds like you need to contact Vodafone at this point, I'm sure they can assist you.

Hello
I went into the branch and they have given me the phone number directly for the internet team and I posted a message on the vodafone community.

But dial up worked fine before swapping out the hardware correct?
