Hello
I have two brother printers MFC-L8850CDW
They are each networked via network cable to the router. Windows 7 pro
Under Scan - to File I receive an error - check connection
the profile keeps getting lost or disconnecting. Its fine for a few weeks then one day I'll go to scan and the profile is gone.
I have set up a profile as a backup via the webpage so I can go Scan - to network
That profile doesn't get lost
In order to reconnect the Scan - to file - profile, on the pc I go to View scanners and cameras and click the printer in the window and click test scanner.
The test is OK and then the profile is restored.
What's strange is that we have two of these printers and the same issue occurs on both.
Thanks

First thought is to make sure you are using static IPs for both printers.

No idea. Check firmware version and review firewall rules.

All I can suggest is looking at the support page for the printer on support.brother.com.

It appears that new drivers and a new firmware have been released in the last two months so installing those may help if you haven't already.

Hello
I've done all those things except for checking for a new driver and the firmware is version M which is the most recent
Thanks

The advanced models of Brother printers do a nice scan to email (scan to SMTP server).  Consider having a look into this and PM me if you need any tips.
