LONG Version

In the mists of time a friends wife created an ecommerce website. The site is 99% for local NZ market.

The site was originally designed and hosted by a small media company. The small media company now outsource the hosting to a 3rd party but my friend still gets billed through the small media company (with middle man tax applied). When ever there are issues they have to deal with the 3rd party.

Anyway the website is now several iterations older (dev no longer by small media company) and uses PayPal for credit card transactions.

They received an email the other day from PayPal asking to update the SSL certs (to TLS 1.2) etc.

I see this as an ideal opportunity to get them onto an independent hosting provider and remove the middle man.

SHORT Version

I'm after any suggestions for NZ based hosting options with PHP, TLS 1.2, email etc.

Any cost effective recommendations?

Put them on AWS Sydney, or Azure has NZ hosting options. Completely self service though, no real support, unless you have someone like me or a support type business helping. If you want full service then there are plenty of threads recommending NZ web hosting with full support, though expect the price to be the better part of $100/month if you want really good support - consider what good staff cost.

I am assuming that the SSL is for PCI compliance, in which case it technically needs to be an independent server, ie. VPS or dedicated, making Timmmays suggestion a good one.
