I know this is kind of a commercial post, but bear with me. I have not been paid for this post but seeing that some companies might have an interest in colocation or access to the Auckland’s Sky Tower facilities I accepted the content to post in this thread. Basically the Sky Tower is not only a premium telecommunications and broadcast tower but also accommodates many Internet Service Providers on two glass clad floors 200 metres above sea level.

It features:

  • Two fully redundant 3 phase mains supplies with separate 11 KV feeds, both backed up by generators
  • Robust, monitored air conditioning
  • Full interconnectivity to other Tower users’ equipment
  • Unprecedented wireless coverage over Auckland
  • 24/7 access for nominated staff and contractors
  • 24/7 on site security
  • Central location
  • Free underground parking while on site
  • No interconnection fees

Anyone interested in exploring the opportunities offered at Sky Tower for their business should contact Warren at jda.co.nz (and that's his email too).

Has a certain Kordia decided to reduce their massive footprint and opened up a bunch of space which needs to be sold?

Probably related to analog switch off?

Though last time I was on L47/L48 there were quite a few empty spots

The reason I put this information up is that I sometimes get calls from an ISP saying that they had trouble finding out who to contact to talk about using the Tower.  Anyone interested in exploring their options further can let me know and I'll be happy to take you up and show you around.

You know you are in Auckland when even servers get breathtaking views over the harbour :)
