Hi,

Does this type of thing exist? are there people out there that can help customize a property inspection check list that's in a spread sheet to make it easier to navigate on a tablet / be more tablet friendly?

Cheers,

DT

Hi DT

Consider using property management software with a tablet-friendly app.  One system accessible from desktops, laptop, and mobiles are almost always nicer than separate systems cobbled together resulting in lots of duplication and increased risk of errors.

Do you have an in-house IT guy who is pretty confident with spreadsheets that could have a crack at it?

Otherwise PM me for an address if you would like us to have a look and give an estimate for the task.

Cheers, Mike

Thanks @Dynamic, ask for some help from our excel guru's in finance and they were able to customize it for us within a few hours.

Totally agree about the tablet friendly app and its something our business is going to explore in the new year, even keying the data into the spreadsheet from a tablet in the field is a big step up for them.. they have been printing off the spreadsheet, filling them out in the field, coming back into the office then transferring the data back into the computer.. multiple that by 1400 properties and you have a MASSIVE sink whole of wasted time

Still, the spreadsheet doesn't really have optimal work flow and an app would speed things up yet again

Cheers for taking the time to reply :)

I'm pleased to hear you got a positive result.

Yes 1400 properties would result in a lot of data entry that is best done once rather than having to be re-entered 2 or even 3 times, not to mention the potential for errors that this double-handling introduces.  Best of luck with that project when the time is right.  I would seek the OK to start this year and give a couple of different SaaS solutions a thorough test, and then the preferred solution goes onto an extended trial before fully committing.  Changing from one platform to another is painful.
