Hi all, is there anyone here who knows any of the Openhost team? I raised a support request with them last weekend where an attempt to change PHP version didn't seem to work as per their documentation. My interactions with their support team have been really odd - multiple requests for Wordpress credentials to access the back end of my site (which should be unnecessary to resolve a problem like this), and responses that seem to indicate very little understanding of how Openhost's system actually works.

So my tinfoil hat theory is that their support requests have been hijacked by someone who is using them to phish their clients, or slightly less tinfoil hat is that they are presumably outsourcing support to someone who has very little familiarity (and seemingly interest) in how their system works.

The original problem resolved itself first thing on Mon morning - their support team seemed ignorant of this until I told them...

This was somewhat disappointing/surprising as my last interaction with their support a year or 2 back was awesome with an amazing tech who went above and beyond to resolve a hosting plan upgrade that somehow went terribly wrong.

I worked for them for 3 months at the start of the year, can telly ou now that the team is located in Auckland and not overseas :)

I do remember there being a quirk with some PHP version changes but cant remember the fix - was doable by the end user.

Pinging @UmbrellarKR  :)

Yeah that's a pretty standard query usually solvable in about 30secs. Can you please PM me your ticket ID - curious what's gone on here. Kieran

I contacted support on Friday afternoon, and got a reply at 4am on Saturday. I thought that was odd time, so I checked the IP and it appeared to be Indian, starting with 49.248 . So I am not sure if they have recently started subcontracting out some of their support recently?

Thanks UmbrellaKR (and xpd!), have flicked you a PM with more info.

mattwnz - same for me, the reply times definitely indicated whoever was replying was in India.
