Whats a recommended , low cost UPS for a ML350 server
None of of the UPS selector pages at APC, ETON etc seem to work , tried FF Chrome & IE (maybe the product selector page needs java ?)

I suspect the cheaper Leibert etc dont switch fast enough for HP servers on a power outage.

The HP T1000 and T1500 UPS models are pretty well priced for server UPS'.  Part numbers are Q1F50A and Q1F52A for tower (floor) models.  Rack models are available as well.

Only the 1500VA is in stock.
Are the Eaton APC Line interactive UPS's OK on ML servers , anyone tested them with servers to see what happens when power is disconnected ?

Just tried a cheaper UPS on a test ML server here.
Doesnt switch to batt power fast enough on power outage (works OK on general PC's )

Yes APC/Eaton will be fine.

You get what you pay for, online ones  will cost more.

For an ML350 probably want between 1KVA to 1500VA

It depends where you are looking!

APC is the premium brand in my mind...  the SmartUPS range is the cheapest I would run with.  Eaton are fine.  And I agree with the 1000va minimum someone suggested, both because the battery won't be tiny and because it is likely to be built better.  The no-name cheapies can be a fire hazard and do a poor job generally of looking after the health of the battery in my experience.

Don't fall into the cheap UPS trap. You want a quality UPS with decent management software to perform an orderly shutdown of the server if required.

The HPE T1000 or T1500 would be my choice.

T1000 or T1500 like everyone else says. HP make nice UPS's. They are well priced too.
