To be fair, their old website was a joke, and any update would be a good one, and it seems they can't even get that right

/end rant.

IM is a bit of joke now - I found that most of their price are more expensive than retails and other wholesalers.....

Hi, its total useless!!! And because they don’t answer the phone you can’t even tell them!

Cleverly though they did provide us with this useful link so we can provide them with feedback!

http://websg.ingrammicro-asia.com/Marketing/Survey/Default.asp?Country=NZ

I suggest instead of us all complaining between ourselves here lets all complete their survey, and make full use of the box at the bottom to provide them with as many "comments" *sarcasm* as possible!!!!!

My “comments” will probably see us banned!!!!!

LOL!

Just got an email from Synnex that has this statement at the top:

"Take the time to login to the Synnex website and see just how easy it is to navigate and be rewarded with some great web only special pricing"

As others have already said, other NZ distributors must be loving IM at the moment.

They say it was piloted with resellers however this new site is their global one. Have a look at http://sg.ingrammicro.com
Its identical to the NZ site. You have to wonder whether they really did get any NZ resellers to test it at all. In fact this Singapore site has been there for a couple of months at least.

Yeah I was told today that Singapore were the first ones to get the "new improved" site! We are second I believe, and lucky Australia get it next month!

Todays guy told me the search works best if we all search using the stock codes not a product name or description! In response to that i asked "you mean the new stock codes you just assigned with this system that no one knows yet because they cant find the products?"

In fairness to the guys on the phone .... they do sound as pissed off as some of us do!

Everyone here has made the same complaints I have got about the new IM website - particularly around the inability to be able to find anything in a timely manner - too frustrating for words!

And I am not sure if anyone else has experienced it but their database seems to be missing a few things here and there as well, stuff i could get a couple of weeks ago I cannot find codes for at all now *sigh*

And I would love to know who the NZ resellers were who tested it, I bet it was a very select pool.  The info I have is that it has been bought inline with the greater US based design - but the interface totally sux.

Reminds me of when they deemed it a good idea to close the SI warehouse a while ago, and they 'consulted with SI distributors who gave it the OK" didnt consult with anyone I know of directly.  And look at what reopened last year - a SI warehouse in CHCH again LOL

I feel sorry for the staff, I dont know you all know that as well as the website upgrade they switched their internal systems onto SAP so have that nightmare to deal with as well, the poor staff must be driven totally nuts.  So I try to be a bit patient with them when I have problems, cos ist not whoever is answering the phones fault.

I complained vociferously about that change, at the time my company was in the top 30 or so of resellers in ChCh for one or two wholesalers and Ingram never asked me, nor anyone else I knew so I'm inclined to the view it was a load of old cock. Needless to say my purchases from them dropped by more than half, partly because it was simply no longer convenient (I used to exclusively pick up from the warehouse) and because I've always preferred to support people with a local presence.

This latest change has also annoyed me. The website is a complete arse and I gave up trying to find what I wanted so called sales, that took so long I left a message to call back... that was now over a week ago and I'm still waiting.

So... these days I don't get so much from them (Dove are my preferred suppliers - and no I'm not posting from a Dove IP, they wouldn't be up this early :-) but I would like to find another supplier of Toshiba, APC, Microsoft (Licensing and retail), Kingston and a few others. Can anyone give me a heads up on who else could supply these in NZ? I've an immediate need for some larger APC UPS's (which is one of the items I wanted from Ingram last week) and I've no doubt I'll want another Toshi before long..

Cheers, P.

Because of this website change and our inability to find products now we have started to look at other suppliers and found them to have better e-commerce websites and cheaper prices.

It's the best thing Ingram Micro has done for a long time for us - force us to use the competition. I'd love to know how much their daily sales have dropped off.

Our account manager now is a glorified data entry person as we are processing most orders through his e-mail address instead of the web site.

I mean this "upgrade" is stuff up of monumental proportions. Not only was it late, but it has to one of the most badly thought out webs I've ever seen.

All my HP business is going to exeed at the moment, the other distis will be having a record month atm without doubt.

I'd like to know if any NZ based reseller actually did any beta testing - anyone want to put their hand up???

Bring back Techlink ONE!! Q U I C K L Y !

Express Data will supply both Microsoft retail and licensing, Datastor supply APC and Synnex supply Kingston. I think Monaco is the other Toshiba distributor.
Also to note given you are in Christchurch is that I was told yesterday to phone or email all orders that you want shipped from the Christchurch warehouse because the website is only capable of shipping orders from the Auckland warehouse!

their internal processing of orders is a complete shambles too now...
We ordered 2x Cisco Routers from them on Monday, its Thursday now and they still havent shipped them.
The daily order reports state some orders are on backorder even though they have been received.

Uh-oh, it gets worse then!

They recently sent me an overdue payment notice on an item I purchased via credit card (no the card wasn't declined!) and still haven't responded to my request for a callback for purchasing some items...

.... so thanks very much to Savag3 I've made contact with Datastor for some UPS's and have been very impressed with the response to date - they know somewhat more about customer service than Ingram at the moment methinks.

Incidentally I've never found people on their 'phone system all that easy to understand - low-bandwidth VOIP I guess - but trying to deal with someone in India or wherever to sort out their stuff-up with the supposedly overdue statement was _really_ difficult :-(

Does anyone know who does Symantec Licensing other than Ingrams?  I used to use ExpressData who were fantastic but they don't do Symantec anymore.  Need a good web based ordering system.
