Great discussion today on NZ Heralds chat thingy.

I just wish, we could force Right Holder's to look at the bigger picture and that they do have to change their business models.

I am tired of good decent TV shows going *poof* because the TV Networks say they are not rating well. Which the whole TV rating system is a whole other kettle of fish.  It just does not work in my opinion.

I just don't know what we as consumers can do about it.

Regions are there for a reason in DVD releases, TV networks purchase the rights to air shows.  Which irks me when they purchase a show and take it away.  Why buy the show in the first place.  So is it because if we had access to content, they are afraid we won't watch their TV networks?

I want to watch what I want when I want.  We have this technology, that is wasted.  I would pay to be able to subscribe to watch movies and shows.  I don't need a dvd box and wasteful packaging.  Certainly it would be greener for TV and Movie studios to go digital - and see these types of rights to TV networks around the world.

I can't afford the moves these days, so I either wait for them to come on Sky - or yes, you can illegally download it.

They need to make it accessible.

But instead they make Laws that have to make them work harder, the ISP's work harder and all this work work work.

Does my head in.
