Lets just say I'm happy and will post up some video the blogs YouTube channel shortly...

Fantastic! Video or it didnt happen :)

Truly fantastic, makes the S3 the only truly serious audio lovers option in the Android world.

I just saw your vid detailing this - to your ears, how was the sound quality?  IIRC correctly, I saw a tweet from Supercurio the other day saying the onboard DAC was superior to the FIIO he was testing against?

When you open up task manager you can individually 'remove apps' by swiping them off the screen.

It's noticeably better with the E7 (he was testing an E17, and unclear whether he was testing his S3 Voodoo'd or not). So far every audio fan I've seen who has also tried an E7 confirms my listening notes.

Thanks for clarifying - so there's still hope that I may be able to use the S3 via the front USB on my Onkyo amp at some point? Laughing

Can you install Better Battery Stats from Here and run it. Go to Kernel Wakelocks and tell me if something called secril_fd-interface is showing up?

It seems really odd to me that you can't disable FD - my understanding is that the modems used by Samsung are closed-source, so it would figure that there would need to be a way of changing it in the OS.

Just out of interest, have you confirmed whether the Vodafone and Telecom variants run the same Modem? (and whether the VF ones will let you change FD via *#9900#)

2h 14min since unplugged and only "secril_fmt-interface" and "secril_rfs-interface" are in the Kernel wakelocks part

Thanks for that. Looks like Telecom have got Fast Dormancy disabled. Any chance you could go into /system/csc and get the customer.xml file using ES File Explorer. You may need to copy the file to another directory on your SD to transfer it anywhere.

Yes and it appears that FD is disabled on the Telecom supplied Galaxy S3 devices, however a lot of us bought from alternate sources to use on Telecom. I am trying to find a way to disable Fast Dormancy as it causes a high number of wakelocks when the network does not support FD.
