Indirectly, yes. This wakelock is caused by Fast Dormancy and whether your network supports it, not directly by apps.

Simple answer is if you're on Telecom, disable FD.  If you're on 2D/VF, leave it.  You'll still get wakelocks, but not to the same extent (i.e. 20 minutes over 30 hours, vs 30 minutes over 1 - 2 hours on Telecom).

I'm in OZ on Vodafone AU. I don't actually know if they have it on or off on the network, i'm experimenting to find out. People have asked Vodafone AU who has responded that they do not discuss network configuration.

When I was in Australia last month I used my Optus SIM. Nothing recorded for FD at all. Back in NZ on 2Degrees and I get a lot of time showing.

Today's stat, with my phone hardly used and for most of the day sitting in one place, 12h 25m since unplugged & I have 42 miuntes 20 seconds fd. Not as bad as some Telecom users report but still much higher than I expected.

I have about 1hr 36m of FD wake locks, 9 hours since charge.

FD off in the phone.

Was similar times to when the phone had FD turned on

Are you sure FD is off? The wakelocks for it should not appear if you have fd disabled.

BTW, Dead Trigger is much nicer with all Tegra 3 graphics effects and on an HDTV controlled via PS3 controller :) Will upload my touch emulation profile for it a bit later.

Guide for playing Dead Trigger with all Tegra-3 'exclusive' graphics :)

Bonus for Sixaxis Controllers users too, you can download my ready-made Touch Emulation profile too.

Hi All

Relatively noob with Android but having a horror run with my "Blue" Telecom supplied S3.

Had for 4 weeks now, first week people complaining could not hear me (I could hear them) and sounded like I was underwater.

First trip to Telecom shop - SIM replacement, tried it but still no cigar.

Went to business hub but they had no loaner S1's or 2's....so waited 1 week till one arrived and phone sent for repair. Had use of a S1 in meantime  - good call quality.

Phone returned - re set up (getting good at this now) and you guessed it the "deep clean" made no difference....had to go to speaker phone to manage calls.

Bit grumbly by now so into shop and grab a brand new unit....spent weekend setting up, and now 4 days into new phone having people say I am fading out can cannot hear.  I am inner city Welly, Featherston street so good coverage.

Have tried all ways of holding and speaking into unit - there is some variance from mic placement but not significant....still best to revert to speaker.

Call to Telecom today - suggested it might be "Network" problems.  Trying to see if there were any known S3 or S3/Telecom voice quality issues?  May need to revert to a Motorolla or a S2 cannot handle a phone where other party cannot make out what you are saying.

If this is in the wrong forum - apologies in advance

Ta

Try turning off noise cancellation, I have heard this sorts this out.
