bignicko: NL Moorhouse Ave in Christchurch are just unpacking their delivery of Blue VF 16GB. 4 are for pre-orders (including mine hopefully) so they said on the phone, and they may have a couple more for sale off the floor. Lucky they're only one block away :)

I would recommend you go and camping in front of the store and be the first to pick it up, you do not want to wait until their call. Trust me :)

Got it. Now to try out the purchases with it. And see if I can get Sygic working with maps on the External SD card.

Good luck :)

I went to a harvey norman store today to try to get an S3, the sales person told me that they ran out of stock for the "vodafone ones".
A bit confused, so I asked her whether the phone they are selling is unlocked.
She said yes, the phone is unlocked but if i buy a "non-vodafone" S3, there is no guarantee that it will work on vodafone network and it will be at my own risk.

Does that mean if I buy one from parallel importers, it might not work on vodafone?
Still confused...

F*** I hate trying to get screen protectors on without bubbles!

The cheap clear TPU case fits nice and snugly, but I can see the wee hinge for the built in stand will be the weak point. Think an otterbox commuter may be the way to go eventually.Formatted the sdhc 32gb card to exFAT fine (for those big 1080 video files!) with no problem.

Not sure about Parallel imported ones, but if you buy a Telecom one, it works on 2Deg and Voda - you will just have the Telecom branding when you turn it on and the browser is renamed.

I'm still in the camp that the Telecom ones (model i-9300T) have a modem optimised for 850mhz which could be slightly detrimental to performance on 900mhz networks like VF or 2D (emphasis on the slightly) but definitely will still work on VF or 2D networks.

Unless you are buying from Oz or NZ they will most likely stock only the international model i-9300 which will perform fine on all networks.

All sIIIs are quad band phones (850,900,1800,2100 mhz bands) except maybe for the still to be released US spec dual cores.

I would do this for you professionally if you live near by Hamilton :)

ok well saw some post about NL Facebook saying people with pre orders should have been rung with arrival date so thought hmmm I'm going to ring. Got hold of them pretty easy but when they asked for my phone number so they could track order (I didn't have invoice on me) they said the number didn't register. So it was nearly lunchtime so with me living about 10 minutes from work I shot home, got invoice and rang again, guy checked and said my Blue phone was ready to be picked up from St Lukes and it had arrived last night.

I didn't believe him but as nl St Lukes is not far away shot round and beggar me it was there. Went accross the road to Telecom shop and bought micro sim ($20) told it would be 15 minutes to 4 hours to change over, which wasn't an issue as had my trusty S2 and new phone. Got to car in car park and it was up and running, well done Telecom.

So I'm a happy chappy, first impressions of blue, hmm bit shiny and not as dark as i would have liked but better than I liked white. Full of bloatware so will root asap. Apart from that its very fast and screen looks superb.

as a footnote, no I didn't ask about 32gb version sorry. The point though would be to ring customer care and ask.

I called Noel Leeming early this morning and asked if my 32GB was in stock yet as that was what I was told by a sales rep when I pre-ordered.

The guy said they received a shipment of Blue 16GB S3's yesterday which were quickly allotted to pre-order customers and said to wait it out.  He mentioned they will be getting more shipments very soon.  Whatever that meant.

So I guess I have to wait it out.  Unless the 32GB S3's are out elsewhere any earlier than Noel Leeming.

I think UK Vodafone preorderers for the S3 32G is getting some news. So I hope that it is a positive and not a misinformation. But I really suspecting that 32G won't be out until the US launch is done. Samsung probably putting the international S3 production line on hold while following their ambition in the US market. But if Aussie got it then we are will be soon.

Thanks trig42, at the end, I couldn't be bothered so went for a Note instead, hope that doesn't make me a criminal on this thread ...
