It does. But it's outside the realms of what I am willing to spend.

Just bought two subs for the home theater lol, I am lucky to have anything left for a phone. $650 absolute max spend.

if you read in the "about " it clearly says they don't collect GST but anything over $399 and over will incur GST. Its an Aussie company not NZ although they have service agents here

I have no idea what you read on websites but it pays to read about costs when buying overseas.

Will jump on the Nexus. Gets the big screen, nice screen and should get updates for a while.

Good stuff. Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus is very slick

I'll add my $0.02...

First up, you won't notice much difference in quality between a decent 5MP and 8MP cellphone camera. If anything, you're more likely to get a slightly better picture with the 5MP camera. The more pixels you cram into a given area, the smaller they'll be and the less light they'll collect. The only ways to deal with the low light levels are to either leave the shutter open longer (potentially causing blurry photos) or to crank up the gain on each pixel. Increasing the gain is what leads to noise, and therefore lower picture quality.

I'd also say to steer clear of Mobicity. As others have mentioned, their prices don't include GST, but are similar to the GST-inclusive prices of other importers. I've also heard rumours that the lie about the value of the phone on the Customs declaration in order to try and get it through without collecting GST. It's probably best not to risk buying from them, just in case the price of the phone suddenly gets more expensive to the tune of 15% + MAF fees.
