I've purchased from einfo (Expert Infotech) before and they were really good.

They have a shop on the North Shore if you prefer to go and pick one up

I am in Wellinton.  I would have to credit card it anyway as I haven't the readies but can get no interest until 13 November on my Visa and I get paid twice before then so that is fine and the $15 CC fee is not a show stopper.

2 Degrees shop handset only price $1049. Yeah right.

These guys have had the S3 for $735 for a while now. I got my S2 off them and had no problems with it (still haven't, my GF has it now). Took about 2 weeks to arrive from memory.

Kiwi1971:I am not actually sure, they do have a shop in Auckland but just the one so chances are they parallel import.

I've ordered mine now from Einfotech and even with courier and 2% CC surcharge it came in at $760 for the 16GB Pebble blue.

In case you're not aware Expert Infotech are also parallel importers.

Kiwi1971: It's been two years with the HTC Desire and I am looking at getting a Samsung Galaxy S3.

I have previously used Mobicity without incurring any GST or Duty my research suggests that they use FedEx, which pretty much guarantees having to pony up for additional taxes and duty. However I remember them using PBT [?] with my Tablet and it just came to my work without any customs hold up.

Was wondering what people's recent experiences have been like if any. With any supplier.

If it's a 50/50 thing I think I might play it safe and pay an extra $50 to source it locally.

Just wanted to get some other input

I use mobicity.co.nz. That way I'm covered by NZ consumer law and I don't mind paying tax. I see it as helping sick kids get better.

Yes. It's how I got my X5 cheap. At that time it was 10% off.
The product has to be the same, the playtech ones would not qualify for the matching. $30 for a non parallel import one with good support from an established store, probably worth it to me. $729 for a 32GB one though....

Playtech have them listed for $749 but out of stock anyway. 16GB

Question: I ordered from EInfotech but in less than 24 hours they have dropped the price by $6.  Should they refund me the difference given that they haven't actually sent mine yet?

Nope. When you ordered you entered into a contract at the stated price at that time.

I knew that they are not obliged to but it is a common for places to do it as a goodwill gesture.

As they have [or will] in this case Smile...I called to see when I will get it as it said pending all day [Monday BTW yay I guess] and asked if they have a price drop policy and mentioned that the price had dropped again to $727 from $734 and they would refund the difference.

Small gesture but makes me want to use them again.

The question you asked was "Should they"... this suggested you did not already know the answer - hence why I replied how I did.

If you wanted a different question answered, you should have asked that question. Laughing

But good on them for doing so with the refund of the difference.

keewee01: Cos' it was in the Warehouse mailer in my mailbox last night! ;-)

They have all 3 flavors (2degrees, voda, and telecom) for that one price for a limited time.

If you goto the warehouse stationary they have a 5% price beating promise on mobiles. Not sure if it applies though since both are owned by the warehouse.
