Well....not sure about what bank you go through but for me with ASB I just logged in and went to personal details, selected visa account and there was an option to change address. So I did then opened a new gmail and wallet account and Voila

Oh and in answer to Peejay,  I used the phone number provided to me by Youshop when i set up my OS address

Thanks again Syphe!

peejayw: How did you get around having to provide a phone number for account verification and if you already have your card linked to another NZ google account will it still work?
Thanks.

I just used the phone number I was given for youshop, no idea if they called it, but I think as long as all the other checks are fine they don't need to call.

[edit] yeah I have my normal gmail account with a google wallet account tied to my credit card, didn't seem to create any issues, I guess they can't store alot of your details unencrypted, so trying to look for duplicates to check for this kind of thing is probably not feesible.

motorwayne:
syphe: just got my shipping email from google for an 8GB, it's been picked up by UPS and should be at youshop in a day or 2!
To order I changed my billing address on my Visa card to my youshop address, and signed up a new gmail with GWallet with the matching details, went through without a hitch, albeit was a bit nervous when it was sitting there in 'pre-order' for a day or so.

For those sending through youshop, I got a Nexus7 in the post on Thursday through the same means, they asked me for a value and the box had what I quoted, which didn't include youshop postal fees, so if you're getting the 8GB you should be fine getting through customs under the threshold.

How did you change your billing address to the US for your already owned Visa card without the Visa company going ballistic?

But I like the sound of this as an idea for all future purchases...might set one up specifically for this sort of thing.

Cheers

I just called ASB and asked to change the address, the guy was curious as to why, but had no reservations about doing it, 5mins later checked my account online and it was listed with the new address.
you just have to make sure you don't get your statements sent there, I just use electronic statements anyway so that was easy.

If you check out the updated Anandtech review (one of the most comprehensive IMO) from the beginning of the week they cover off the basebands support for certain lte channels. It's not just a matter of compliant hardware but carrier certification also, something which would have delayed launch.

For those of you with an HP touchstone I can confirm the inductive charging on this and the nexus 4 are incompatible after testing. Not that I really expected otherwise, stranger things have happened so thought it was worth a shot.

My order still says pending.  I've rung Google and they said if I haven't received a backorder email (I haven't) then I should get some tracking information soon (I doubt it).

The people answering the phones at google sounded like they were as clueless as the rest of us.

I wish. Still waiting for the next batch of N4s to come on line.
Next time I am well equipped with a working google wallet at least

Has anyone heard when the next lot will become available?

I am thinking due to the huge outcry of unhappiness to date with the initial release
I don't think google will they will attempt another release
Until they know they can deliver.

Sad but I think true, I will be F5 ing till then :-)

I don't know, but given the complete lack of information around about how many units were sold in the initial release or how many are in production now, I get the feeling we will be lucky if it's before Christmas (which is only 5 weeks away).

But I will be happy if/when I am wrong.
