Tempting but still way more expensive than purchasing from Google Play.

I just saw another site

http://www.ezishopping.co.nz/m_mall_detail.php?ps_ctid=18090000&ps_goid=920 (Christchurch)

Selling the N4 8gb only for $615 including GST and shipping. It appears that they import them and have them available now. (not confirmed)

This option is cheaper than Mobicity.co.nz as from previous experience you will still need to pay duty once ordered

But this is still $215 more than you would pay online at Google. So it all depends on how much you want one and how much you enjoy the VPNing int shipping etc.

I for one will hang on till available again ....but then I am not in a great rush. Come on Google, release my Christmas present :-)

Well, depends. Using youshop to get a 16GB from the US play store ends up being $600NZ or so all up.

Could be wrong but is/wasn't the CHCH store + the Wellington store owned by the same person?

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=111487

Be careful if they are run by the same person :)

Has anyone ordered a 16gb one using youshop? How much did it cost?

hahahah, that's doubtful. They havn't been in stock since they "launched". (Even when they went on sale in the play store, they immediately went out of stock)

I think from looking at the youshop site it would cost around $17.25 + $6 if you want extra insurance.  You would then have to pay around $107 duty on arrival in NZ.

If, however, you got the 8GB N4 I believe you may not need to pay any duty???  It's a fine line Undecided

I see folks over at XDA have figured out how to enable LTE on the Nexus 4.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007943

But apparently so far only on band 4 which is not the band(s) going to be used here.

Still a nice hack for those who got it to work on their networks.

For those buying through the play store, what happens if you need to get it replaced by google? As is the case for this buzzing audio issue.

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2016098

How do you go about sending it back?

I think you either cut your losses, or find someone you can trust in the US to send it back for you.

after reading quite a few threads on reddit etc about some of the build quality issues (loose buttons, rattling innards, micro usb port coming away from the housing etc) - I wonder if it might be better to wait for it to be available in New Zealand - the hassle in sending it back would be huge.

A friend works for Google in Aussie and he said he was told it was gonna be released in NZ at some stage but didnt know when - only that it was arriving in Australia first... although that may have just been idle talk in the office or something... if I cant get my hands on one soon I will likely just buy an iPhone 5.

If only Samsung brought out an S3 or note 2 with an IPS instead of AMOLED screen...

I haven't seen much about the faults, though I guess there will be some of that.

I don't see it being sold in NZ officially? Anyone else think NZ will get play stor hardware sales soon? It would be nice. The GNex is through secondary channels and expensive prices...guess if we're willing to pay the extra, one of those outfits might be a good way to go for the N4 which might help return issues if there are any.

my 8GB just arrived in the country via youpost, so judging by my last experiences I might have it in my hands tomorrow morning.
