The only reconfiguration I had to do was turn location services back on (one press of a button) and to re-enable the phone in the Play Store which is really easy...
1. Sign out of the Play store and your google account on your PC
2. Close your browser on your PC
3. Open the Play store on your mobile and download any free app
4. Open your browser on your PC
5. Sign back into the Play store and your google account on your PC
kitinnz:Oncop53:kitinnz:Oncop53: Still no android 4.2.2 here. I need those tiny insignificant changes!
Has your update come through yet? I still haven't got it for my Nexus 7 (rooted) or Nexus 4 (US bought, non-rooted). I've tried the framework trick and removing my google account but still no update love. I can do the sideload easily enough, but the one of the reasons I got my N4 was so I didn't have to play around with roms/updates etc!
Yes the "google services framework" trick did work, but it needed multiple cycles of clearing the cache and data (just toggling back and forth on the same screen). I followed the procedure here:
I dont think I would do this again though. I lost a bunch of settings to do with google services (location etc.) and it was a pain to go back though the multiple places changing things back. Also my device disappeared from the web Google play store for a few days.
Thanks Oncop53, I had heard that it potentially messed with the location services and play store. I think I will just sit tight and wait. I might not be so inclined to wait if it were a more serious update
