majiktripp: Sold out on Play Store in US now of both models, walked into Bond and Bond and bought one 16GB model one for NZ$779 - couldn't resist!

Does Bond & Bond have these in stock now?

Got an email from Parallel Imported yesterday .  They must think people in NZ are stupid.  The have the 16 gig Nexus 4 for a mere $899  !!

You people are nuts paying $799 for the fone here in NZ.  By doing this your just supporting the retailers and telling them to keep ripping us off.

You should be directing you efforts to telling the likes of Google that NZ is a part of the tech 1st world not tech 3rd world.

Anyone know of Google NZ's contact details as they ignore you on G+ when you complain..

I would agree as well to this point. Google NZ should have opened up their shops and let us buy the devices from them directly here. I cant remember, but I think I did read a forum somewhere that since Australia and NZ are different regions, the laws that would apply for us getting content (movies, books, music etc) here would be different to the rules in Aus. I think that was the reason that someone stated that Google cant open up shop here.

But as Google owns the Nexus line of hardware then what's to stop them??  There's no licensing involved..

Old3eyes

Nexus 4 are sold by Google with partnership from LG aiming for developers. The real 'Google' phone will be out next year, called X-Phone from Motorola (Google owns Mototola).

And I bet that won't be available in the NZ Play Store either.

It's interesting to see the criticism that Google is getting on G+ over this but they never come back with a response.  Guess they don't care.

Hi

I am in Auckland and I have just picked up my Nexus 4 (16G) from Customs. And I have a spare one to sell at cost.

Cost $349US shipping to US address $14, Shipping to NZ $46US = $409US / by 0.81 = $504.94NZ
Customs $75.74NZ GST plus $38.07 entry fee, plus $36.78 agents fee.

Total = $660.68 new sealed in box.

I will take $660 cash

If interest contact Peter 021 2149849 or email twobikes22@gmail.com

I am sure it will be like Nexus 7 that say in March 2013 they will have a 32G model for same price as 16G now. Still a very nice phone. Just need a camera now with NFC.

I bought the phone of noel lemming right now.
If I bought from google I would have had to wait until mid jan or even early feb to buy it and go through all the waiting process and especially the hassel of vpn and sending to shipito and they sending here because I have had bad experiences with nexus products including nexus 7 with me having to return it twice so I bought it of noel lemming.
And the nexus 4 fault % is higher every time i'm currently getting updated by a thread that talks about their shipping and what happened to their devices etc and there seems to be a LOT of replacements. LG can't waste time so they have to produce more quantity even if it means sacrificing quality and increasing the chances of fault google just needs stock or else people are going to turn away.
I could have savedpotentially $150 - $170 bux but I think it's totally worth it as warranty is so much easier to handle here and $150 i'm sure a lot of people would have to agree that it's a very good premium having to go through hassels and constant calling with googles horrible customer service.
I recommend buying from noel lemming to anyone unless your willing to wait.

and + for most people not wanting to pay customs or trying to sneak it, that is going to be a big hassel cause it's a bet lol but hey i'm not promoting it but I know plenty who say they won't but they do.

If they don't put it on order. They will get one from another store/2degrees.

That's what I did. Pre-ordered mine on a friends and family discount day.
