I'm glad you guys got yours' so promptly. Fingers crosses I'll get mine today. It is rather exciting!

Slightly off-topic: has anyone had a go at cutting their sim down to a micro-sim? I heard (anecdotally) that some shops charge a ridiculous fee for it, so am keen to do it myself. Have found some guides online.

Vodafone in Sylvia Park did a sim swap for free so no need to cut it.

northover: Hallelujah!

Mine arrived from Google Play today. Ordered 27th Nov. Arrived Youshop USA 19th DEC from Google.

So considering it's xmas I'm impressed with Youshop. They don't send a NZ tracking number mind, the first I knew was an email sent to me saying it had been delivered. There is was, at my door.

The amazing thing is that it was a 16gb model and I declared the full value at Youshop and it went sailing straight through customs. So total landed cost to me is NZ $463.

I rang LG NZ (answered in Oz) and asked about warranty who said as it was purchased in another country it wasn't covered in NZ but they would help out over the phone etc if I called with a problem.

So was it worth it? Countless hours slaving over the PC trying to purchase one of these things using VPN forums refreshing +++ etc etc! Ahhhhh

In short ....NO! However it was a thrill of the chase type of thing that kept me inspired during the dark times and also the support and comradery experienced through the forums. Thanks so much guys for all the support and help.  Needed a crystal ball to see that they would be available for $640 in NZ

Oh and The most important thing of all: was the phone worth the wait? Hell yes! What a beast. It is just the most awesome phone ever held in my hands....until sometime next year :-)

Wow congrats. I ordered mine (16GB) on the same day and received an email on the 24th from youshop giving me the NZ tracking number. Have been ringing up trying to get the customs number etc since boxing day. They told me today that it hasn't been processed by customs yet, there likely won't be any progress over the weekend so I won't even be able to pay customs until Monday or Tuesday, and have to wait for delivery to Chch after that.

Not thrilled with how long it has taken to get from youshoup (Google delivered it on the 14th Dec) to still be waiting now, esp considering I can go pick one up for $607 today. A friend of mine just did this from Warehouse Stationary and considering all the drama of ordering through VPN and credit card etc I'd say it's well worth the extra.

So I called bond and bond this morning. They said they are waiting for stock from supplier, and to expect it in 3 to 5 working days.

I ordered my Nexus 4 on Xmas Eve on the Noel Leeming 20% off and have just received an e-mail saying it's ready to be picked up.

I assume I must have got in early enough to secure existing stock and those facing delays have to wait for the next shipment. Given the supply problems with the Nexus 4 I was expecting some sort of wait for stock to come in.

JamesL: Note: this item is currently pre-order with expected delivery to be mid Jan 2013

Seems like all wireless chargers are scarce at the moment, I have the Zens one on backorder. I tried my Nokia charging plate that I was using with the 920 and it doesn't work well, only got one successful charge out of it now all it does it flick between charging and not charging then eventually stops charging
I was lucky and it's been shipped to my friends address before they went out of stock.

I've got a slim Diztronic case which I'm hoping will work with the wireless charger, if not I'll see how it goes with the free case that the charger ships with.

I'm in the same boat as you toxicbubble with my Nexus 10 ordered from the US Play Store via VPN. It's now in the country being "held for clearance" at customs. It's got a tracking number but I'll have to wait till they email me so that I can pay for it. At least I don't have to wait for a letter as YouShop said they would email me.

That's definitly the same boat with the NZ tracking number showing it being 'held for clearance'. I suppose with the time of year there's a bit of backlog in processing all the incoming mail.

That's interesting, I hadn't heard about youshop emailing when it's ready to be paid. I had been following the advice here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=48&topicid=112371 and just ringing but they just keep telling me it should be later this afternoon for about three days now. But good to know I might hear about it via email as soon as they process it anyway, cheers.

Still trying to resist the urge to walk into Warehouse Stationary and try my luck as my current phone (Galaxy Nexus) has issues charging. I suppose I'll just try and make do until it finally arrives though.

For the people using shipito and youpost services - what shipping methods did you use to deliver to NZ?

I have just received an email from Google advisomg my order placed 30th of Nov via the playstore has now been shipped to my Shipito address.

I am looking at DHL express - i wont be able to find out the exact cost yet - i have to wait for the package to arrive to the shipito warehouse first.

I can't remember if there was even an option with YouShop, for my Nexus 10 they charged me $26.75 for International Shipping and I chose the Additional compensation cover as well of $6.00, total $32.75 shipping. It's still waiting clearance through customs so I probably won't get it for a few more days.

Interesting with my two covers that went through YouShop I chose that a signature was required for one of the packages and not the other. The courier knocked on the door, left the two packages at the door and left. I didn't get to sign for anything. If they do that with my tablet I'm going to complain.

The more I hold this device the better it feels. In terms of design its like going from the iphone 3gs to the 4 (from a gnexus).

Also interested in wireless charging, share your thoughts ppl :D

My Nexus 4 arrived from Google Play (Youshop) whilst I was away on holiday and they left it on the door step! I had asked for signed delivery. NZpost/Youshop still show it as 'arrived in New Zealand'. Therefore they have no idea my parcel has been delivered?

A little annoyed at Youshop to be honest... But very happy to have my phone.
