I am thinking of ordering a galaxy note 10.1 online in the US and using nzpost service youshop to redirect here.I know they charge international shipping by weight so am wondering how much it might be. Anyone done this before ?

How much is the tablet?

There is a good chance you will also have to pay GST when it gets here (if it is worth more than $400 and customs picks it up on the way through).

Factor that in before ordering from overseas instead of buying locally (with a local warranty too). You will pick them up for under $800 here (WiFi models).

check out the weight of the item in the specs and add a bit extra for the box and then calculate the rate per 500g as per the youshop rates per 500grams.

edit: theres a calculator ready to use on the youshop pages

I brought a Nexus 10 from the Play Store and had it shipped by Youshop.  Youshop cost was NZ$37.50.  I had to declare the US value of the Nexus on the Youshop site for Customs purposes.

Presume you would need to pay the GST 15% of the total of the declared value of your parcel and the postage

And do you have to pay any customs clearance fee (think it's about $90) at all?

I got caught for GST plus the Import Transaction Fee and Biosecurity Fee which added another $38.07.
