OK
I will have to leave it for the moment.
Need to head for a meeting.
I ordered it from Clove on the 2nd of March
It got dispatched on Tuesday morning UK time and delivered this morning at around 10:30
Had to pay GST, FedEx took payment of some $180 over the phone, but the package was pre-cleared to no delay of delivery.

Will get it going later and most some more pics.

Its certainly one of the best looking phones around, I think saying its the best ever is a bit OTT. Bit interested in what people have to say after its been in circulation a while.

I'm not as sure as I was a few months ago especially with the quad/octa core debacle.
I'm quite keen on the Note 2 (old eyes) but always liked HTC from old days when I had the Falcon then the Apache.

Only thing is the SD card and removable battery which is handy.

I've always been a pretty loyal supporter of manufacturers but maybe time for a change

Bad news for those that ordered from Noel Leeming - the Telecom version won't be out until the 7th of May! I am one of 'these'. The question is whether the $200 saving I got during the Easter sale is worth waiting for another month.

Preorders can be cancelled so no worries especially if somewhere else has it cheaper / sooner

Not sure what you mean by Debacle?

The battery isn't a deal breaker for me, but the SD Card is a bigger issue.

Absolutely. I am wondering whether I should order via Clove / Handtec.

bit off topic so i apologise in advance,

its confusing at to what is better (if at all), are 8 cores more efficient or is the Exynos chip just a waste of space given the SDS.If the quad is only one to come here then apart from camera, Ram and software upgrades there isn't much differance to S3 so is it worth it.

Without linking to any articles/benchmarks/proof I believe that the HTC One is a step up from the S3 mostly with its Adreno 320 GPU. It seems that most benchmarks put it up at the top tier.

The octa core is really just two 4 core cpus. One slow (for battery savings), one fast (for intensive tasks). The argument is that over the life of the battery cycle it would help lower battery drain. Thus increase usable hours.

And then you can add to that that not all markets are getting the Octa. Some will get the Snapdragon 600 which is a different kettle of LTE fish.

Pretty cut about the launch date but I can wait, seeing we bought two of them for $1600 its a pretty good saving and my old Galaxy S1 is still ticking along

You and I are both in the same boat, except that I only bought the one. Have you had a look at cases yet?
