bradstewart: I had to go through a massive mission to return to stock.

- Restored my old 4.1 backup
- Restored stock recovery
- Rebooted and found since I'd updated the firmware to 2.24, the touchscreen no longer worked.
- Downloaded WWE 1.28 RUU and installed
- Flashed custom recovery to restore my Telecom 1.29 backup
- Restored stock recovery
- Factory reset
- Restarted and now downloading the 4.2 OTA.

Damn didn't backup my telecom rom/recovery. Is there any of these telecom resources online?

Telecom is just an unlocked optus au phone.
There is a nandroid here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
You want the one called "M7 CWM Nandroid Backup / CID HTC__039 / 1.29.980.2 (Australia Unbranded - Thanks to deeevan)"

It's not so much an unlocked Optus phone so much as Optus, VF AU, VF NZ and TNZ all use the same software. But semantics I guess.

The reversion to stock went well although I have two small problems now.

1. I flashed my transparent clock mod before remembering that it was for deodexed ROMs only. Now I have no sense widget.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could copy HtcWeatherClockWidget.apk and HtcWeatherClockWidget.odex from /system/app and upload them somewhere for me. You don't need to be rooted to do this, just have a decent file explorer like ES File Manager installed.

2. I cannot get Facebook to authorise HTC Sense. I've wiped data for both Facebook and Facebook for Sense as well as removing HTC Sense from my Facebook account several times. Still no joy. Has anyone had any issues like this before? Seems to be a common enough problem but none of the suggested fixes seem to work.

Try this for the files: http://db.tt/MVeN52Ff

Actually even i get a 404 trying to access that. If you message me your email address i can send them directly

Scratch that, i think my tablet automatically deselected the last letter of the address when i was specifying the address to copy, so i think the link does work. If it doesn't, go for option 2

Thanks for this. For some really bizarre reason replacing the files didn't work, even with permissions corrected and then a factory reset.

Downgrading to 1.29 then will OTA again. Hopefully this will also fix the Facebook issue.

And this is why I am too nervous to root and flash Custom ROMS.

To be fair this wasn't the fault of a custom ROM. I just had a small brain fade and flashed the wrong file. The main reason I have root is to use the root version of Cerberus. And have transparent Sense clock and dock/folders.

The Facebook thing seems to be quite common after some Googling and root/custom ROMs etc have nothing to do with it.

I factory reset my HTC One because I wanted to make sure it was nice and ready for the update.  I also found that all the demo music that originally came with my Phone was gone O_o not that I listen to it or anything but its sort or weird.  Is this some sort of law thing or something to do with copyright or something so you cant have the demo music after reset? I dont know but this is really weird... maybe my Phone is just broken or something O_o

swisshardy: Can anyone confirm their 4g is working after the update? I'm in Wellington and on Vodafone 4g plan and now I can't see 4g come up on my phone like before the update. I used to get strong 4g on Lambton Quay but now it only shows h?

Have you got LTE enabled? Settings > Mobile Data > Network mode

Yes i have that enabled, my network mode is gsm/wcdma/lte auto but still not 4g in lambton quay area.

Hi Cyber. Just to let you know, I don't have my update yet either. Looks like lots of people don't.
I've been through the process of waiting for an update from the vendor before, and sometimes it can take weeks and weeks.

I'd suggest just checking on your phone nightly perhaps, and keeping an eye on this thread for updates as other people report in. If still nothing after a couple of weeks, then make a comment here and troubleshooting can begin in earnest.

I definitely echo everything from Zub there. Last year I had a HTC One X and everyone I knew got the update at very different times over the space of a month - I heard some people took longer but that may have been because they never checked for updates.

Bottom line, few people have it yet but expect it to ramp up over the next 14 days.
