heavenlywild: Thanks for posting the samples. I gotta say, quite disappointed with the performance of the HTC One in decent sunlight. Very jagged edges. WTF? If you look at the coastline one, there's some kind of ghosting?

Apparently after testing its an issue with the auto mode choosing the wrong iso - and the retail models (so yes those with the 'fixed' firmware) will get an update when they sort it out

^I thought they had fixed this and that all retail handsets would have the new firmware?

The ghosting might have been introduced by HDR, as it's taking more than one shot.
I will do more pics using standard modes.

heavenlywild: Farking Samsung and their lies about the gap issue with the HTC One. Apparently all the posts online about how you can put a piece of paper through the gap in the phone is totally BS! I will never, ever own a Samsung again!

A quick video of the setup process.
Looks like HTC have done a reasonable job at making switching from other vendors' phones to this very easy. The list includes iPhones.
A note that although the transfer worked great at getting all content, wireless passwords and such, it did not touch any actual accounts, Google, FB and so on, that were configured on the original S2:

Also, so far the battery is holding up well (mild use so far though).

I know most people post these as well so here it goes:

Looks like no media is willing to go against Samsung by posting it. Unfortunately the links are the best that I can do. You will see the screenshot of Samsung Taiwan's Facebook post in the links above. It basically admits fault in a round about way.

Very impressive battery life so far @dauckland.

Could you see if there's a software update to improve image quality? Would love for you to take a couple more daytime and nighttime shots to upload tomorrow, with and without HDR on.

Thanks a mill!

either that or there is nothing in it, would be surprised if media wouldn't get stuck into something like this if there was any truth to it.

As for links, as I said the first one I can't get access the second is some forum and it makes little sense to me.

As I posted in your thread on this topic I would be surprised if any company would do this let alone Samsung so maybe you were a bit hasty either that or it has yet to be made a news worthy item

Use Google translate to understand what's going on. I think they've removed the first link as it contained the fb screenshot. Mobile01 is well known to support Sammy...

Google translate is very average and one word or inflection could easily change a sentence completely. I have staff who are asian and use google translate and often comment how bad it is.

I used translate but made little sense and seemed to be just peoples opinions rather than facts.I've used google and can't find any posts about the paper and the screen, where exactly was it published as it can't have all been removed as i would have thought if a smear campaign was happening it would be everywhere.

I know it has been said numerous times before, but HTC has really really missed the boat on this one. You would think it would of launched all over the world by now and they they would of had enough stock lined up. SGS4 is going to be out before the one at this rate, people tossing up between the two will go for SGS4. What a shame.
