Hmmm well after this upadte my battery has actually gone worse. Used to get home in the evenings with around 40% left, but since this update I'm getting around 15-10% left, nothing else turned on like BT, GPS etc. Strange.

Also, it reset all my volumes so everything that was minimum suddenly was at max, gave me a shock in the morning LOL.

And sadly, doesn't seem to improve the camera ( i know this wasn't in there, but was hoping), still getting blurry shots. Oh well, phone goes for sale this week and time to go back to iOS after 7 months with Android.

Well, if you won't miss it, it won't miss you.

Honestly, I'm sorry if that seems a bit snarky, but really, what is the point in coming into a device owners forum and stating that you're giving up and selling your phone to go back to the phone-for-people-who-can't-be-bothered-to-think-about-how-it-works-and-don't-care-that-they-aren't-able-to-use-their-own-device-the-way-they-want?

I mean, if all you wanted was a device that "just works" for the 80% of possible use cases for mobile devices, rather than a device that does it all, but requires maybe a bit of knowledge so you don't get yourself into trouble, then why did you ever swap? And why tell us all that you're giving up and going back?

Anyone else having a problem where their battery will tell you its empty, switch off and then you can power back on with approx 15% remaining? This has happened ever since I got the phone. My battery life is truly starting to suck so I think I might just have a bad battery.

No trouble from my battery so far (fingers crossed).

But has anyone else noticed when using the Gmail app in landscape to write an email, that the viewable area above the keyboard is so small that you can't see what you're writing? The 'word guess' strip covers up the line that your're actually writing. I'm sure it never used to be like that.

Has anyone received GPe 4.4 OTA yet?

Eagerly waiting, yes I know i can side load but the key principle in going GPe for me was the feelgood factor of having a basically stock GPe phone that received timely OTA updates with no background tomfoolery required

You're probably in the queue. Did you see the Android Police article last week on how the Nexus/GPe OTA updates are rolled out?

macuser: Converting to ART now, just for the lolz.

Yeah I would be keen to get in on that but still a few apps that don't support it. Titanium Backup and the Xposed framework come to mind. Can't live without those.

Ti Backup has just been updated with ART support....Xposed framework, given the way it works, may not ever actually support ART.... :S

Yeah I saw the Titanium update this morning. The xposed dev is working on going to have a crack at supporting ART, will be interesting to see how that works out.

Yep, I received mine a couple of days ago. Only two days after I got it on my Nexus 10.

Love the new dialer. Not so sure about the grey colour scheme.

The Dev Edition and US unlocked models are receiving KitKat with Sense 5.5 now. Very impressive considering the S4 is only now getting 4.3.

Hopefully it will be seen on carriers here within the next month or so.

Hey Wade,

Did you get your GPE update yet? I have a genuine GPE that I bought when I was in the states earlier this year, but I converted a friends Dev Edition and he received the update about the same time.

Just wondering, I want to try and update my baseband to the NZ version to try and enable LTE on it. The US LTE bands are very different from the asian and european version, but from what I can tell the hardware is the same. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236

Can someone post with a vodafone supplied phone their settings page screenshot so I can confirm which baseband I should be using?

Thanks

Thanks heaps. That's the same that I've got so it's not just about changing the modem. Bummer.

Go in to Settings->Mobile data->Network mode and ensure GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto is selected. I was wandering round the Welington CBD the other day and got reasonable 4G.
