Krishant007: haha, fair enough. i guess will wait to see what we land in our hands...hoping to get it delivered on launch! 2 weeks to go...

I really think Telecom would be stupid to sell a 3G only device considering they are launching their 4G network later this year.

From what I have read 2 months back. Telecom did show me a specs sheet detailing that it is 4G compatible. However, they may have changed their minds. Fingers crossed they aren't that short sighted.

I dunno why but I don't feel I can trust them. I've read too many horror stories I think.

Well, while they don't charge your credit card until they have stock, I don't believe they are the quickest when it comes to getting stock.

If you can wait, you might as well for the Queen's Birthday sale... but that's another month and a bit away.

Krishant007: wait hang on...i think before i had ordered the phone, i had checked the telecom page and it had said that the phone is 4G.

Is that why the Vodafone version is $150 more expensive coz it's 4g and telecom version isn't....
That's a rip off then, but if u order from overseas then 4G frequency doesn't match the one in NZ right??????

The European version from Clove supports LTE on the 1800mhz band, so it should work on Voda 4G (and Telecom once their 4G network is live).

What does the Clove website mean by Incl Vat which is 510 and excl Vat 425...
What is Vat????

VAT is a sales tax, like our GST. So if you bought it you would be paying the price without VAT. However, you will be paying GST if customs in NZ stops it.

Agreed, expansys are great for accessories, but I'd be wary of buying a $1000 device from them. Plus they don't have any info on which variant of the One they will offer.

Mobicity says they will have an LTE 1800 version available for about $1050 (including GST, shipping, and customs fees). They say stock is shipping next Monday (Apr 29).

Clove UK has the LTE 1800/2600/800 version at NZ$813, including shipping but EXCLUDING GST. I've had luck getting phones from Clove without being pinged for GST but that may not always be the case. Pretty sure I'm going to place my order with Clove tonight and hope for a perfect unit.

otari, is it true that going through Royal Mail gives you a better chance of avoiding customs?

That was my experience last year with my One X from Clove. The option is called "Airsure Tracked Mail" in the Clove checkout menu. Just be aware that this option does not provide any tracking details after the package leaves the UK, until you get a letter from NZ customs or it's delivered to your door.

You can buy one from Australia as their 4G LTE is same like ours 1800/2600 which should work here? Harvey Norman Australia is selling simfree for AUD $698 but only ship thems to Aussie address's. I have ordered mine through them last week and i m told it will be delivered this friday to my Aussie address.

For all those interested, I just received this from a Vodafone rep via email
It has been confirmed on the 7.5.2013 these handsets will sell outright to everyone and at this stage I have not been made aware of the cost of the handset we will update our customers and everyone due to launch date.

Just spoke with Exeltek in Melbourne, they will have stock of the LTE 1800 One on Monday and are happy to ship to NZ for AU$35 tracked. Comes with a 2 year warranty, he is getting back to me regarding whether it could be repaired in NZ under warranty (prob have to send it back to Aus). Guy on phone was good, I may do this instead of Clove who are still backlogged with pre orders.
