Or it could be like the Nokia Lumia 920 which is a LTE device but it's been disabled by Telecom...

heavenlywild:
freitasm: Fired up one of the devices, inserted my Telecom SIM and the options I see are GSM, WCDMA, GSM+WCDMA only.

Thanks so much. Bugger...looks like the rumour is true. It's a 3G device only. No!

What does this all mean, the device from telecom is 3G only and will not work with 4G when they roll it out???
Vodafone are rip off, they're charging people an extra 10 bucks or something to use there 4G network tho...
As I still have a 6 mth contract with them, I'm not gonna pay an extra 10 bucks for 4G. But it's a bummer if Telecom are only giving people 3G versions as I purchased from Noel Leemings.

I don't like the idea of being locked out of 4g even if 4g is available on the device.

Why would they not do the same on the S4? Their site states 4g compatible for the new Sammy.

Been following this thread for a few weeks since I'm really interested in the HTC One.

Just thought I'd chime in and say that I saw the HTC One for sale at Albany Westfield parallel importers for $1,200. I noticed it was for sale on my way to the movies and it was sold by the time I came out. Speaking to the cashier, he said their stock came from Hong Kong - not sure if the 4G bands would be compatible with NZ?

Anyways, the price was too much considering Telecom will have it for $1k in a couple of week's time. But someone out there has their hands on a brand new HTC One.

Went down to the mall this afternoon, had a good wee play with the S4 , and now know I will for sure wait for the One (or at least play with it before buying anything) the S4 really looks and feels like the S3 which isnt a bad thing persay, but for twice the price, seems a bit nuts. And holding the S3 in one hand and the S4 in the other, the screen size difference is all most un-noticeable, and that was in my plus column for the S4 over the One.

I see the HTC One has just been released in China as a Dual Sim version.

the back cover is removable and it has Micro SD slot as well... just no 4G

Somestimes when I check out XDA forums it puts me off the phone, every has the problems listed with the phone. But in saying that, people don't usually make threads when the phone is great, only the negatives.

Anyway, just so I understand this ultra Pixel vs Megapixel thing..

If I was to go to a stadium and take some photos/videos of a team running out, pictures of players on the field etc (So quite a distance away) would a 12/13 Megapixel camera be better because I could zoom in more?

And the Ultrapixel camera is more suited for social networking picture uploads?

In that scenario and in reasonably good light a good 8/13mp camera will serve you better.

Went to JB in Sylvia Park and asked one of the guys about HTC one. He typed something into his mobile gadget and told me they expect the phone to be in stock next Tuesday. He didn't sound 100% confident though.
Noel Leeming in Sylvia Park didn't have a clue.

I also checked out s4 while I was there. They had their own studio set up and all.
HTC should have definitely launched their product earlier as they had planned.
The spotlight is now on S4 and they will lose a lot of potential buyers if this delay gets any longer.

I just phoned JB's Queen St, Auckland, store. The guy was very vague - he said they have been told "late April, early May". I asked if there was any way I could track it and he was even more vague.

Not a lot of help.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
