Just wondering if anyone knows about the consequences of this:

http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-comments-on-Micgate---the-One-might-get-a-new-microphone-after-current-stock-is-exhausted_id42335

From my reading and understanding.. the microphones being used in the current batch of the One are the same as Nokia Lumia 920- assuming thats a good thing.

but the article goes on to say that the next batch will have better microphones...i dont know if thats good news or not good news..

Can't imagine how a better microphone could be worse, I'd say it's more a case of true or false.

Mics - not too fussed really. If you buy fairly early you should get the Nokia mics.

My no.1 question now is whether the Telecom handset is going to be 4G compatible. At the moment there's no confirmation.

The better mics could be worse for those who have preordered the phones and are awaiting delivery..

This injunction is fresh and I would bet the next lot of phones for preorders is already ready to go out the door

The comment I read about the microphones was that HTC had the rights to finish using their remaining stock but would have to use a replacement once they're depleted.

^ Yeah and this

Hard to know how many they purchased but I can imagine it would be in relative bulk

Can't believe with just a week to go, Telecom still hasn't got all the info up on their website. WTF?

The review unit from Telecom should be with me tomorrow so can provide any details needed. Will also be looking into LTE compatibility.

Thanks Brad. I believe we are all keen as chips to find out.

If it has 4G but it's deactivated via software, then it's still OK as long as it isn't the Asian 3G only stock.

Yep... I've sent both HTC One I had here to BradStewart and TechnoFreak today. They should have these tomorrow to write the blog reviews for [url=telecomtech[/url] but I hope they be able to answer any questions around here...

Got mine today :)

Unlooked for bonus: mine is S-Off (the ones the big cheese has sent out probably are also).

I suspect those guys will LOVE this phone, man the physical build and design of it makes quite an impression.

Can any owners comment on the buttons and any difficulties with using them? Specifically am talking about the two capacitive buttons at the bottom.

Have read 2-3 people mentioning that they can be very hard to use/activate.

I have to say this is the first HTC Android I really liked the look of.

Did you end up seeing the retail boxes freitasm? Any signs of 4G?
