heavenlywild: Looks like we won't get the Telecom version before the weekend. It's still 'Coming Soon' on their website.

Sigh... while I've only ordered one phone and paid it in full, I would rather free up this money and use it somewhere else. I may cancel my NL order. Come Queen's Birthday - in under a month - there'll be another 20% off sale anyway. I know it seems an age away, but hey, it's not the end of the world.

Now that The Warehouse has it on their website, you can count that a discount off all mobiles won't be too far away. Every 3 or so weeks they discount them by 20%.

Plus, the 'gapagate' may be gone by then.

Actually its up now. http://store.telecom.co.nz/mobile/personal/phone-details/htc-one/our-picks

Might be on the Telecom site but just walked into the local Telecom shop on Willis St in Wellington and they don't have stock or know anything about it's release!

Interesting to see the Telecom site states the software version to be 4.2.2.  Isn't that the same version of the recently leaked Sense 5.1?  Maybe this was one of the reasons for the delay on Telecom?

Does anyone know what version the Vodafone handsets are loaded with?

There's no 4.2.2 update yet. As much as is like to be wrong I don't see Telecom being the first to roll it out.

Telecom (Victoria Street Store) advise HTC One available for pick up at stores from tomorrow. (but not them because they are closed weekends). Teleho!

The guy went on to say they have them in stock right now and are releasing from tomorrow, or I could buy one on line and expect to wait about 3 or 4 days for delivery.

I am told these should be available from today on Telecom. So I guess it could be online now and in stores later today/tomorrow?

Also, the 4.2.2 is a typo and should be 4.1.2.

Just got back from a Telecom store. Was told they had received HTC One's today, asked if I could get one. He asked if it was on plan, I said no, and he went out back. Couple minutes later he returns with a cordless phone in hand and tells me they are not available for pre-pay purchase, only a plan, and mentioned there wasn't much in it for Telecom (assuming profit margin wise), and pre-pay might be available in about a month.

I just got off online chat with Telecom, and the person reacted with "Really!!!!" and

Them: Can you phone another store at all to see - they may not be holding enough stock to offer to prepaid (but they should be)

Me:  I asked if they had any in stock and he confirmed they got some this morning

Them: Yes they will have some - each store is franchised and he may be holding for pay monthly contract customers but this is not what we were lead to believe here - prepaid supposed to be available. Do you have a mobile number I can look into this and ring you back?

Try Noel Leeming. They sell it outright, only if they have stock of course.

I called Noel Leeming before I went out, they haven't received any yet.

Only an 0800 visible on the Noel Leeming website so called that. I went in store anyway and there was a space for a "Coming Soon" phone or whatever. Didn't have any HTC One's on display.
