Bacha: So after being on Google Rom for nearly 2 Months. I am coming back to Samsung Rom. Going to try latest 4.4.2 rom and see how much has changed. For some reason was missing S Health and Camera features...

try the shoman rom, the first one I posted above, as it doesn't use the new knox bootloader and is very good. If you already have know bootloader it doesn't matter

Yeah being reading it for a while.  I might try that one and see how it goes. How is it going for you??

Well for a touch wiz rom it is good but none of them have the speed of the GE or AOSP Roms but that's the trade off. I installed xposed framework and Wanam kat and they both have some good item's to modify things like battery icons, lockscreen behavior etc.

There are a lot of people in the world... I like my phone more than most of them, but I like most people I know better than my phone.

I never bothered with a new ROM at Christmas, and since I'm going on holiday in a week I don't want to mess with anything right now. Once I'm back I'll look at the best 4.4.2 Touchwiz ROM. I don't care if it's a touch slower, I find the features handy... I wish they'd have one app area though, or at least sort the downloaded apps.

I may try GE just to see if it's really much faster.

I'm finding 4.4 TW pretty fast, especially with a modified TW launcher (it has been made faster!). You can grab it here if you want to give it a go.

Battery life for has been up and down, have read that the TW media scanner is pretty hard out and is the culprit to most of it.

Biggest gripe is I cant do a clean install at the moment because I'm a big fan of the pattern unlock and that only sticks if you dirty flash over a 4.3 install (after you set the pattern lock). Dilemmas of the old bootloader, c'mon kernel sources!!

no as I had custom recovery which was fine but I changed from latest CWM to TWRP to try it out and it is fine, others suggest Philz touch recovery but I don't like it.

Just check your revoery version and make sure you do a backup just in case, in TWRP if gives option to do EFS backup if you don't have one done already. Then all good to go just put in phone full wipe and flash

Thanks I had latest Philz touch recovery version 6.15.4 but that had issue installing 4.4.2 apparently so went to version to version 6.07.9 and it installed fine. Installation done and setting it up now.

ahh good job let us know what you think, I'm quite happy everything seems fine and I don't use anything other than swipe on lockscreen.

Yes I heard that about Philz but quite liking TWRP and its ease of use and more options.

It seems fast from the first use but thats because I haven got any apps installed. New version is already out lol XXUFNB9 that was quick oh well.

Will put TWRP soon, only reason I went to philz was when I was on touchwiz 4.3 foxhound had problem with TWRP.

The latest philz will work but there is a setting you need to toggle to do it. Sorry, after Fri drinks it's not coming to me.

Biggest news for me is that a dirty build.prop edit has got the lockscreen functionality back for a clean flash with the old bootloader. I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend! Lol

I used tasker for a while, but changed to Llama as it does 95% of what I need with 5% of the effort.

I like tasker, it mutes my phone when it's docked between the hours of 10:30-7am. I also have it turn the volume down on the ringer/notifications when I am at work. The list of things it can do is endless. The tasker forums/wiki are a great place to start.
