While mentioning that I am completely new to this android lark I was wondering about using google wallet , is this at all possible or worth it ??. I also was looking at this and although I am not wanting to buy it I did see somebody mention about wireless charging.

I have a couple of questions for people that have bought local Telecom NZ or Vodafone versions.
  1. Do they have different firmware versions?
  2. Is the modem version the same between them?
  3. Is the bootloader locked?

Hi,

The 9500 doesn't have LTE at all.
For 3G it does 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz.

The 9505 does 1800 MHz I believe for LTE.

I'm still trying to decide which I like more.  The 9500 seems to be faster CPU according to benchmarks, but it won't ever do 4G/LTE when that's available where you are.

For wifi, it does 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot

I don't even think you can install google wallet in NZ,

Thanks for the wireless charging link... that's really just a bodgie job. I'm actually hoping the official one ships this time.

To other people, the octa core can have 4g, but only for south korean bands.
The octa also has some "unfinished" issues if I remember a post from NZTechFreak correctly

joker97: battery life?

After 48 hours I have a little over 53% battery life remaining. It's default everything and push email which i use a fair amount.

45 Minutes. Doesn't seem accurate to me, I used it a lot yesterday at work, but pretty quiet today.

Yeah I saw that on my GNex. 4.3 battery stats seem broken. I've been using Battery Stats Plus. It's accurate.

Not bad at all. I'm getting about 30 hours and 5.5 - 6 hours screen time on my HTC One.

So what I found interesting is that today I went out and whilst I had 4G Coverage I was basically draining battery before my eyes, so I dropped to 24% after only discharging perhaps 1-3% overnight. I think I'll opt out of my 4G right now as speedtests have shown that perhaps 1 in 20 speed tests are above what I was getting without due to DC and with it having such a significant impact on battery I'd rather have extra life than speed.
