Damager: Crikey.. the "other" thread has quite a few "i opened the box and saw the dreaded gap, and the next one was the same, so took it back" etc etc.. from the phone with the "premium" build materials and quality? :D

:) It's a lovely device. But yep i know 5 people with one including me, and 3 of them have a gap they are insisting will require warranty replacement.

I'd have though they'd have some sort of scanner that instantly measures everything on the phone and if it's out of spec by the smallest margin, it gets dropped out to be sold as a "second".

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2
- Business Hours - Work In The Electricity Industry, After Hours - DJ/Turntablist - Will Scratch Vinyl For Free'
- What's next??? S3?

networkn: Anyone got any bright ideas how I can bring across saved text messages from a Blackberry to an Android device

Samsung Smart Switch?

Its an exe file that requires no installation to the PC and I have had a couple of good reports about it, apparently supports Blackberry.

Samsung Smart Switch migration apk

Used the exe file but can't download the apk as its US device centric?

Anyone got a working link for it?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.dtl.smartswitch

There is a chrome extension for grabbing apks directly from the desktop Play Store, can't recall the name of the top of my head but perhaps try that or search XDA.

Interesting video. Internal camera video is a mirrored ìmage not a true one. (He's driving on Right side of road, which is correct, but interior video looks like hes driving on left)

Thanks - good idea.
I found the xda post and tried it but the chrome apk extension doesn't work for apps not allowed to be downloaded in your country ,so no joy

I disabled all the bloat and my RAM used went from 1.2GB to about 800Mb :D

Samsung should really remap their flash storage to give us more than 9GB out of 16GB

How to check HD Voice Status:

1. Dial *#0011# and SERVICE MODE will show up
2. Press left-hard key (pop up menu will show up) and then press BACK
3. Press left-hard key again, press KEY INPUT , type 1 and press OK, (it takes 2-3 sec for new menu to show up)
4. On the top of the screen, you will see only single position 1 - touch it or simply wait (it takes 1-2 sec)
5. Now you should be in Extended menu, press [8] WB-AMR Status and look if WB-AMR SETTING and UMTS WB are ON,

EDIT: mine is on, but I'm on Optus in Oz

Probably SIM activated... no point if the network doesn't support it.
