Damager: I've installed the Adam kernel and it's working much better for me. I was also hitting cpu temps around 60 degrees on Abyss kernel.

I am about to do the same... I am having serious battery and other issue. Which Adam Kernel did you flash? knox free or the other one? I am on Omega V12 ZHUDMI. I am sure I have got the right version just want to confirm it before I Flash it. Thanks in advance.

I'm on version 12 as well so flash the normal one. Knox free is for the older firmwares.

I turned off location services, fixed my battery issues on the stock ROM. Of course then you lose location services, but they're easily turned back on.

is there any way to find which apps are using mobile data and disabling them.  I have both the S4 and HTC One with identical apps apart from the ones that came with the phone.  The HTC One does not use mobile data so Vodafone dont charge me data usage.

The S4 costs me average 32cents a day data costs.

S4 I have mobile data turned off and I have even set to use gsm only.   I have also in wifi settings set it to keep wifi on when asleep.

The hTC One I have left mobile data turned off and network mode is gsm/wcdma/lte

so it would appear samsung apps are using mobile data even with mobile data turned off,  I know its not a lot of money but it adds up

That's strange, I thought turning off mobile data actually turned off the radio. Do you not have a smartphone data plan with your smartphone?

I'm curious why you have a smart phone if you don't use data. Do you mostly use WiFi?

there are so many things I can do with the smartphone I cant do on a non smart phone.   Also 99.9999% time I have wifi available.  The other 0.0001 percent I am outside of wifi but dont need the phone then and then the times I am travelling if I need to use a feature that will use data then I can turn data on and use it for that required time.

Perhaps you should call your telco. Mobile data turned off should be a hard off.

I've found if you have the screen set to 'auto brightness' it is far more dim than if you turn that off - at the expense of greater battery consumption.  You can also set it to 'auto brightness +(<5) to allow it to auto-adjust for lighting, but with an added boost.

Is there a setting to optimize screen for saving power like in s2? I can't find that toggle to turn off just in case that might help
