I just applied the update.

Kernel changed from 3.4.0-1869009 to 3.4.0-2082040
SELinux changed from GT-I9505_4.3_0012 to SE for Android GT-I9505_4.3_0014

ibuksh: I have a telecom handset and got a 141MB update this morning. All it said was improved stability in the description. That wasnt very explanatory.

This is after the 4.3 which already came sometime ago. And the version no is still 4.3 after this mornings update.

Anyone has any idea what this update was for..?

Looks like it (4.3) has just been released for the 2degrees version (NZC).

Tip - if you want to mount your external SD card (eg for MediaMonkey sync) you can use this app. More info here.

My S4 is starting to act a little strange. Not long as I was using KeePass 2 (great secure password tool), when I exited the keyboard (swype) wouldn't disappear from my screen. I pushed some buttons, it would run apps, but the keyboard wouldn't go away. I tried to hold down home and power to get a screenshot, but that made it reboot.

The other day I picked it up, did a google play update, ran my RSS reader, etc, then went to the home screen. It kept doing things in the background but wouldn't run any new problems. I had to hold power then choose reboot.

It's only happened a few times, and a reboot fixes it. Nothing to really worry about yet, but just curious if anyone else has had this, or has any thoughts.

It's an i9505, rooted, but with stock ROM.

I'll be travelling to the US with my Telecom i9505. I have LTE here in NZ, can anyone tell me if there is a compatible LTE Network in the US for the i9505 using the Telecom firmware?

Tim have you checked what you ram available is when its doing this, it should be fine but sounds like a memory issue or hog.

I posted how I got my 4G going on the Telecom 4G/LTE thread in the telecom forum. I used a method on the echoe rom FAQ page. I'm on stock ROM though.

Has anyone else faced a fast battery drain issue.

Apparently its a known issue to samsung (along with battery swelling issue).

I got in touch with samsung and they said that it could be the batter or the body causing it to drain the battery fast - he couldnt explain to me how that worked.

I bought my handset from Noel Leeming. Will be taking it back to them sometime this week most likely.

If anyone has faced this issue then how fast was the turnaround time from giving it to the retailer and getting it back fixed.

What does the battery applet in settings say is using the power? Have you installed something like BetterBatteryStats+ (requires root) to drill down?

I have tried quite a few things but the fast drain issue is like this:
- the battery would be at a healthy %age ~ 70% - 80% or even more
- you are using the phone to play a game or browsing the web or on facebook or viber for more than 5 minutes
- the phone goes off and tries to restart and fails multiple times on it own
- plug the phone into a charger and it will come up with the battery sign showing empty
- now you press the power button to start and it can start
- once started up.. the battery %age will show 0%
- then while you are charging, the %age goes up dramatically to 40+ in within a few minutes
- take the charger out and the battery %age keeps going up by itself without charging
