Hi All,

I have started using this on my Android phone but I'm having problems with Sync.

It gets new messages fine but doesn't/won't sync my folders. I can see my folders but I get a No Messages message in the folder. I've tried syncing the folders from the folder and Settings but no joy.

I have checked the forums and this does appear to be a problem for other people.

Anybody had it here?

Anybody got a fix?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Thanks for the reply. According to the Google Play reviews you are not the only one.

I really want to like I actually like it better than Gmail on a desktop browser. But if it won't do mobile then it won't do.

If it did what it said on the tin...

It's possible to set up the standard email app to access Hotmail/ This has been working quite nicely for me, at least on the CyanogenMod-based ROMs I've been using for the last year or so.

Here's how you set your account up:
  1. Go to Settings > Accounts
  2. Add a new Corporate / Microsoft Exchange / ActiveSync account (name might vary).
  3. Enter your details as needed, until you get to the server setup screen.
  4. Enter the following details:
    • Domain\Username: \
    • Password: your password
    • Server:
    • Use secure connection: yes
  5. Hit Next. This should test the connection and make sure that it's all working as expected.
  6. Enter any other information that you need, and proceed until the account is created.
After this has been done, you should be able to access your email and your calendar using the standard apps.

Thanks. This is what I would do if I had to have

At one stage I was going to transition from my Gmail account over to I prefer the UI I think being about to create Word docs in Skydrive is amazing I like the idea that it would integrate with my Win 8 desktop experience.

Sadly, it has been a bit of a death of a thousand cuts.

  • The Nokia 720 looks like a great phone, until you see the Sony Xperia SP.
  • The calendar is great, until you try to integrate Facebook.
  • The Android App looks really cool with a way better UI than Gmail, but it doesn't work.
  • Word Docs on Skydrive are great, but they don't auto-save the way Google Doc do.
  • Windows RT tablets seem like a cool idea, then you see how much more expensive they are than Android tablets of similar or better spec.

Add it all up and I'm sticking with Gmail and the Android world.
